What's buzz-worthy: Do "happy little trees" make for happy little baseball cards and, in turn, happy little collectors? The world will find out soon as this meshing of MLB cardboard with the famed late artist arrives this week.

The Basics: The release will mesh some of his famous landscape paintings with players from the past and present in this one with a number of parallel colors (above) as well as autographs and a "super short-printed" chase card of Ross and some other chases like image variations and "happy mistakes" cards. ... Collector's Edition boxes will guarantee two autos every time, while Happy Little Boxes will have ink in every fourth box. Every pack will include one numbered parallel or a short-printed card in this release based on early teases.

Update: The base set is 100 cards with nine parallels -- Easel (Happy Little Box only), Splatter (/99), Green Canvas (/75), Blue (/50), White (/35), Yellow (/25), Crimson (/10), Red (5) and 1/1 Black. ... Image variations will be found for 10 players and "Happy Mistakes" for nine players. Among the insert sets are Budding Talents, Peaks of Power, and Painting The Corners. These will have Blue, Whit, Yellow, Crimson, Red and Black parallels, too. ... The autograph lineup is loaded with newcomers but also includes David Ortiz, Sammy Sosa, Bo Jackson, Frank Thomas, Albert Pujols, Spencer Strider, Mark McGwire, Juan Soto and Corbin Carroll among others. The Collector's Edition boxes (eight packs of 12 cards) were $199.99 and 10-box cases were $1,979.99 via Topps, while Happy Little Boxes were $24.99 for 12 cards.
