What's buzz-worthy: Topps' newest round of college basketball cards for active college players once again will showcase college stars from men's and women's basketball all in one spot with a rainbow of potential among everything found in colorful, shiny Chrome.

The Basics: There will be 100 cards in the base set, according to the checklist (linked above), and each will have team logo variations as well as parallels (see odds for lineup) to chase. Insert sets will include Campus Icons, Acropolis, Social Studies, Flash, Facilitators, College Rule Playbook, Pep Rally, Warriors Of The Paint, Boundless Potential, After School Special, "SSP" Physical Education (every other case) and Treasured Talents. ... Autographs will include standard ink paralleling the base set, The Big Kahuna, Campus Visit, Eye Test, College Application, Course Load, Campus Dorm, Fanatics Fraternity, Sapphire Selections and Final Exam -- see all the parallel details linked above.

Update (March 7): There will be 60-card mega boxes and 28-card blaster boxes for this one with some exclusive Shimmer and Wave parallels in play. For megas, base card Shimmer parallels there will be Green, Orange (/65) and Blue (/35) along with standard Refractors and Purple Lava parallels. Inserts will have Refractors, X-Fractors and then Blue (/150), G0ld (/50), Orange (/25) and 1/1 Superfractors for their Refractor parallels. Autographed cards will have Shimmers -- Green, Orange and Blue -- at same volumes as the base parallels. ... In blasters, base parallels will include standard Refractors along with Purple Lava, Black Wave, Green Wave (/85) and Red Wave (/45). Insert parallels will be the same as in megas. Auto parallels in blasters will include Black Wave, Green Wave and Red Wave at same volumes.
