What's buzz-worthy: Topps revives Chrome for the pro basketball realm with members of the NBA Players Association -- but not NBA team trademarks -- for the second time and we've got the basics.

The Basics: The base set here will include 200 cards with each having plenty of parallels such as Frozenfractors -- see the odds link above for the breakdown -- while inserts will include Youthquake, Test Drive, Destiny, Lock It Up, Instinct, Sapphire Selections, Infinity, 451, Rock Stars, Let's Go, Ultraviolet All-Stars, Radiating Rookies, Helix, Countdown Complete, Ball Of Duty, Fresh Start, Film Study, Show & Tell, Dippers and Advisory. ... Ink will parallel the base set as well as be found on Skylight Signatures, Certified Autograph Issue, Certified Rookie Autographs, Next Stop, 1973 Topps, Future Stars and Chromographs. Signers can be seen on the checklist file linked up top.

Update (May 16): Hobby packs will include eight cards with each including five base, two parallels and then an insert or auto. A case will have two "SSP" case-level inserts from the lineup of 451, Rock Stars, Let's Go, Ultra Violet All-Stars, Radiating Rookies and Helix. ... Parallels are noted in the gallery for base, while standard inserts will have Green (/99), Gold (/50), Orange (/25), Red (/5) and 1/1 Supers. The "SSP" inserts will only have a Superfractor version. ... All five auto sets will have Refractors, Gold (/50), Black (/10), Red (/5) and 1/1 Supers. ... Breaker box parallels for all three types of cards are noted in the gallery.

Update (May 19): Blaster details are in for this one with both blaster boxes and mega boxes for this release and each will have case hit inserts as well as exclusives. Blasters will include two Green parallels, two Pink parallels and three inserts. "SSP" case hits in both formats will be Advisory inserts as well as Dippers and base parallels here (not in every box) also will include Pink Basketball and Blue Basketball Refractors and those also will be found among the autos here for all three signed sets. Inserts here will include Film Study, Show & Tell, Countdown, Ball Of Duty and Fresh Start. Parallel details and more images have been added to the gallery.

Update (July 16): There's also a Sapphire Edition of this one ($199.99 a box initially via Topps with 10 boxes per case) with one autograph per 32-card box. The 200-card set includes Sapphire Refractors in Green (/99), Gold (/50), Orange (/25), Purple (/10), Red (/5) and 1/1 Padparadscha. ... Autographs will have basic Chrome Sapphire (/25 to 1/1), SKY-Light Signatures (/25 down to 1/1), Next Stop Signatures (/25 down to 1/1), Rookies (/50 down to 1/1) and 1973 Topps (/25 down to 1/1). ... Inserts include Sapphire Selections for 25 rookies from the 2024 Draft as well as Infinity.
