First Buzz: 2024 Panini Select football cards

What's buzz-worthy: Select hits the gridiron once again with a big set that's tiered still very much in play along with plenty of color and inserts showcasing NFL stars.

The Basics: Boxes will include 15 Prizms, six other inserts and two Field Level cards each time atop the hits and base cards just like last time. The set will include 500 cards and five tiers that were not detailed in advance but likely still the Concourse, Premier Level, Club Level, Suite Level and Field Level format of the past. ... Among the hits will be jumbo rookie signature swatches, Prime Selections rookie-patch autos and Signatures for starters. ... For inserts there will be Score Select Throwback cards, Starcade, Color Wheel and Watercolors and there will also once again be XRC cards for players taken in this year's NFL Draft. ... Boxes once again carry a suggested retail price of $450.

Update: There also will be H2 boxes for this release with four six-card packs per box (20 boxes per case). Each box will include two Silver, four Disco, 10 Concourse, six Premier and two Club cards just like last time. Disco parallels will include Red, Blue, Gold, Green and Black. Among the H2 autos will be rookie signature memorabilia ... Boxes will carry a suggested retail price of $250.

Update (June 4): There also will be hobby blaster and hobby mega boxes of this one. Each will have exclusive parallels in every box as well as a shot at a serial-numbered parallel in every other box. The full breakdown of those is at the end of the gallery below.
