What's buzz-worthy: Allen & Ginter arrives once again -- this time after the season -- with all the eccentricities, plenty of baseball players and a new retro design based on some of the 1880s tobacco card designs that helped bring some of the first baseball cards to the masses long, long ago. The 20th edition of the brand under Topps' revival will apparently include only two hits per hobby box, based on early info.

The Basics: The full details and images are still to come but early teasers include a 300-card set capped by 50 short-prints with "creators, champions, and icons from every corner of pop culture." It will include "the familiar and the fresh" on minis, foil parallels and inserts that will start off with Light The Night, Uniform Countdown, Sweet Victory, Wicked Curves and State Birds. Also in the mix will be Chrome and Metal minis, a selection of 1/1 cut autos, DNA Relics, Rip Cards and lineup card autos. Among early teasers for hits are autos, framed Relics, rip cards or vintage buybacks, "making every rip a journey through the weird, wild and wonderful."

New parallels for the first 300 base cards will include Foil Filagree and that same approach will be found in Gold (/50), Orange (/25), Black (/10), Red (/5) and 1/1 Purple. That's atop Silver and 1/1 Glossy parallels. The 50 SPs will only have Foil, Gold and Glossy versions. Mini parallels will be the standard stuff here -- A&G back, Black, No-number (/50 announced), Brooklyn (/25) and 1/1 sets for both Wood and Glossy. SPs will have the same. Also in play will be mini metals (/3), mini stained glass (/25), printing plates and cloth. Chromes will have standard, Refractor, X-Fractor, Gold (/50), Orange (/25), Red (/5) and 1/1 Superfractors. Mini Chromes will only be in Gold, Orange, Red and Supers at same volumes.

Rip Cards will be found in standard and dual versions with the typical mini exclusives, metals, Wood or 1/1 artwork. Full-size Relics will once again have two versions (A/B designs) with five parallels apiece there -- A&G back (/50), No-number (/25), Brooklyn (/10), Topps (/5) and 1/1 A&G Man for As. The Bs will have Gold Foil, Orange Foil, Black Foil, Red Foil and Purple Foil ... same volumes. Other hits will include mini Relics, DNA Relics, cut autos, Relic cut autos, 100 1/1 framed originals and Lineup Card Relics.

Autographs also will have more parallels this year. Framed minis parallels will include Green Frame (/99),  Blue Frame (/50), Black Frame (/25), Red ink and 1/1 Purple Frame. There also will be auto Relic books (/10), dual auto-Relics (/10) and autographed Lineup Card Relics. There also will be Larry David autos with regular-size, red-ink versions (/10) and framed minis in red ink (/10), silver ink (/5) and a 1/1 gold.

More info and images will be added to this one when formally unveiled.
