What's buzz-worthy: It's time to turn back the clock a few years with Topps Heritage taking on 1976 ... and it's penciled in to arrive this month.

The Basics: The basic set will once again consist of 400 cards with 100 short-prints atop that with the odds and checklist noted above. Among the inclusions? Alternate Cartoon variations as well as image, Flipped Bat variations, Nickname variations and image variations. ... Among inserts will be Through The Years, 1976 Redefined, 1976 Player Icons, Heritage 25th Anniversary and Notable Americans.

Mem card hits will include Clubhouse Collection Relics, single-player Clubhouse Collection Dual Relics, two-player Clubhouse Collection Relics, triple-player Clubhouse Collection Relics, four-player Clubhouse Collection Relics, two-player MLB Collection Relics and Bicentennial Relics.

As for ink, a selection of 1/1 cut auto cards will be in play for "notable Americans" as well as 1976 celebrities and 1976 MLB stars and they're joined by Real One autos, duals, triples, 1976 Redefined autos, 25th Anniversary autos, Chrome autos and a 1976 Award-winner auto for Jim Palmer. There also will be Clubhouse Collection Auto Relics (singles and duals), Flashback auto Relics and Bicentennial auto Relics.

Boxes opened at $109.99 via Topps for hobby and $49.99 for megas.

Update (April 3): Retail details are in for this one with eight-pack blaster boxes (40 per case) including one insert, two SPs, two Dark Green parallels, two Chrome parallels and two Pink Sparkle parallels. Meanwhile, 17-pack mega boxes (20 per case) will be the home to one insert, four SPs, four Red parallels, four Chrome parallels, four Silver Sparkle parallels and one Notable Americans insert. ... Hanger packs will be the home to Light Purple (above) parallels, while Dark Yellow parallels will be found in jumbo packs.

Among the overall inclusions are Bicentennial parallels (/200) and Color Of The Year (/76) cards. Chrome parallels will add Burgundy Sparkle in hanger packs, Pink Sparkle in blasters, Silver Sparkle in megas and Aqua Sparkles in jumbo packs. They'll join the standard stuff -- Chrome, Refractor, Blue (/150), Green (/99), Black (/76), Orange (/25), Red (5) and 1/1 Supers.

Holographic parallels will be in play for the insert sets -- Through The Years, 1976 Redefined, 1976 Player Icons and 25th Anniversary -- while stamped 1976 buybacks will return as inserts in packs.
