MiLB Madness: Ballpark icons, Batman and a vacuum cleaner?

Minor league baseball cards from the past can include some weird stuff ... sometimes stuff you wouldn't imagine to be found on a baseball card. Here are some some new fun cards and oddities in this latest edition of MiLB Madness.
THE DOUBLE FEATURE
The Card: Kazoo & Diamond 2025 Choice Pensacola Blue Wahoos
The Buzz On This: In Hollywood, there's an old saying to "never work with children or animals" as they'll steal an actor's thunder, but when it comes to baseball cards at the MiLB level the animals and the mascots might reign when it comes to novelty cardboard. The card back says it all here -- the mascot is the veteran sharing his card with the rookie. You won't find this kind of star power teaming up in pretty much any MLB sets.
Keep reading for more examples of some weird or fun baseball cards you can find in and around MiLB.
TWO STARS, ONE CARD
The Card: Kameron Brooks & Joe Schadler 2023 Florence Y'alls (team issue)
The Buzz On This: A batboy card isn't unheard of -- I've seen more than a few through the years -- but a double-fronted card of a batboy and his boss, the caped crusader? (Wait, that's Batman, not this batman.) Well, either way, this one is just different. It's from an independent team's independently made card set ... so the rules are out the window when it comes to the cardboard. (Y'alls rebellious.) The design is pretty tight, though, with a clearly retro vibe but modern colors and design.

TWO ODDITIES IN ONE
The Card: Audyanna Merrick 2025 Choice Stockton Ports
The Buzz On This: What makes this card odd? It's an action shot of a trainer -- those are often some of the most posed of the posed cards when you find them in sets at this level (and you will as they are seemingly always in there). What's one other thing that's odd here? The design is clearly inspired by an NFL set -- 2022 Panini Prestige. Most of the time, the design homages found at this level are ones riffing off other baseball sets. A third odd thing here is how this one includes no info at all about the subject -- that's not unheard of but it's normal for older sets more than newer ones.

NO TIME FOR YOUR PHOTOS
The Card: Max Schell 2023 Choice Albuquerque Isotopes
The Buzz On This: A bullpen catcher on a card? This is not the only time I've seen this ... but it's definitely not common. This is his first card with this team but from the looks of that back he could potentially have others ... he's a bullpen catching veteran. There are guys like this on every team at every level ... but not many have cards.

REMEMBER LAST MONTH?
The Card: Nathan Alleyne 2016 Grandstand San Jose Giants
The Buzz On This: Last month, it was some Photoshopped golf action out on the diamond ... but this time it's about the housekeeping as the clubhouse manager apparently joined the grounds crew for his card and has the props to prove it. It's clearly an ongoing gag with his cardboard -- see the group of cards linked last month -- and it's seemingly every time he has a card. That's classic stuff. Despite the vacuum, this card doesn't suck.
