The arrival of 2016 Score football cards on Wednesday marks the start of the NFL card season and a new landscape for the league when it comes to cardboard.

None of this year's rookies have been drafted yet -- that starts on Thursday night -- so they're found in their college colors as part of the product, which includes four autographs or memorabilia cards in every jumbo box.

What's buzz-worthy: The jumbo boxes of Panini America's flagship football card brand will pack at least three autographs inside every box with a $10-per-pack suggested retail price. There are also some high-end memorabilia options to be found inside this year's edition, too.

Panini America announced on Friday that it has signed former Memphis Tigers quarterback Paxton Lynch to an autograph and card deal in advance of the NFL Draft while also unveiling a design for the 2016 Score release.

He'll appear on product packaging for Panini's NFL and collegiate releases as well.

“Paxton is one of the most exciting players in this year’s draft and, as a result, his presence in our complete roster of 2016 physical and digital NFL/NFLPA trading card products is critical,” said Mark Warsop, Panini America CEO, in a prepared release. “We’re excited to be working with him – not just during his rookie season but for many years to come.”
