2016 World Series
Kris Bryant & Anthony Rizzo World Series final out gloves heading to auction block via Goldin Auctions at The National
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]A Chicago Cubs fan you know might need a loan.
That's because the fielding gloves used by Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo when they fielded the final out in the 2016 World Series to end 108 years of heartache are headed to the auction block on Aug. 1 in Chicago via a Goldin Auctions event coinciding with the National Sports Collectors Convention.
The opening bid? A cool $250,000 -- and they are being sold together.
Both gloves are signed and inscribed by the players to note their historic status with documentation from both MLB Authentication and Fanatics, which handled autograph signings with the championship team. The items have been seen on countless pieces of memorabilia given their significance, of course, with the Bryant glove seen on one of his 2017 Topps Heritage cards and both on the cover of Sports Illustrated being just two examples.
"Goldin Auctions is proud to offer at auction two significant pieces of history involving that monumental play," reads the auction listing. "Two truly remarkable pieces of baseball history offered in one lot."

LIVING IN AMERICA -- HUGE TOPPS LIVING SET INTEREST
The Item: 2018 Topps Living No. 6 Nick Markakis
The Price: $224.51 so far (after 22 bids) -- see what it's up to now
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: The market for 2018 Topps Living Set cards is going a little wonky for some players on eBay with the lesser-knowns and lower-volume cards from earlier weeks like this one commanding way more than you might think. Markakis sold only 2,678 copies. It shows that the interest is there from set collectors who must have it all. On the flip side, guys like Shohei Ohtani sold more than 20,000 copies and Ronald Acuna more than doubled that. Ohtani has been a steady seller for some who have opted to get theirs graded but demand for Topps Living isn't just living it's thriving right now.

Indians catcher Roberto Perez a rare find when it comes to baseball cards
For all the hobby firepower on the field for Game 1 of the World Series last night, leave it to the light-hitting catcher with just one anonymous Rookie Card to grab the spotlight.
The catcher is Cleveland's Roberto Perez and the only place to find his cards is in packs of 2015 Topps Update.
He doesn't have an RC logo on his lone Rookie Card. He doesn't have a single prospect card from the Bowman realm (or any other of the countless brands from other companies) and all he has is a base card and parallels in Update save for a few team-issued minor league team sets here and there.
