Black November Wave 8 is here — and here are five deals to consider

If you hadn't noticed, there are a number of boxes with discounted prices now over on the mothership as BlowoutCards.com's Black November Wave 8 hits today.

2015 Panini Prizm baseball hobby box
You won't find as many packs in these boxes, but you'll find two autographs and more than one parallel or insert card in nearly every single pack. The Prizm rainbow here is as strong as it gets and there are plenty of big names to be found among a young crop of signers and a number of big past names -- Kris Bryant, Aaron Judge, Luis Severino, Corey Seager, Addison Russell, Joc Pederson, Steven Moya, David Price, Will Clark, Jose Canseco and plenty more. It's not as cheap as it used to be as these boxes have heated up some but they'll remain a fun option to rip as long as they are still around.Buzz Break: 2016 Topps Heritage Minor League baseball (hobby box)

Gary Sanchez's power prompts look back at cardboard journey
Gary Sanchez is a rookie for the New York Yankees, though he's been around the baseball block a bit. He's 23 but he's already got seven years of minor-league experience with two big-league at-bats last season before his call-up this year -- one that's paid off pretty well.
How well? He's got six home runs and 12 RBI while batting .379 in 15 games, tying him for the most-powerful start to a career for a Yankee through 17 games.
“This is a time when he’s going to play and play a lot," Brian McCann told Newsday. He’s a future All-Star. There’s not many guys walking around with his talent. He’s one of the best young catchers I’ve seen since I’ve been in the big leagues.”

Aaron Judge arrives for New York Yankees with plenty of power -- as well as plenty of cardboard to chase
Aaron Judge's arrival in New York City and New York Yankees pinstripes have already been headline-worthy with a 457-foot home tun in his first at-bat and another in his second game on Sunday. The hours are ticking down on his first baseball card as a big-leaguer -- his first Topps Now card is above, reflecting his first at-bat -- but it's far from the only cardboard for this can't-miss prospect (he's 6-foot-7) who's taken a bit more time than some might expected to arrive.
His cardboard debut? Well, it came some time ago.

Buzz List: Nine autographs to find in 2013 & 2014 Elite Extra Edition boxes
Countless collectors call themselves prospectors, and that particular focus is one that can lead to a lot of pack-ripping or a lot of secondary market purchases with future flips in mind. One brand that's got many of those coveted newcomer names year after year is Elite Extra Edition, which is Panini America's foilboard-focused prospecting brand that typically packs one of the deepest checklists and, with Hot Boxes, some of the highest autograph totals in the hobby.
While the dust isn't yet settling on the recently released newest edition of the brand, Buzz decided to take a look back at nine names who you should know from the previous two editions (2013 and 2014) and see how they did last season. Why? There are inevitably some bargains to be had if you consider this brand and these guys (along with countless other players that may not yet be on the radars of too many prospectors) given box prices these days. After all, old wax can still be good wax if the price is right.
Card Gallery: 2015 Bowman's Best baseball cards
Bowman's Best officially returns tomorrow for the first time in eight years and it's going to pack two autographs into each mini box, four per master, when collectors tear in.First introduced in 1994, Bowman's Best ran for more than a decade before a year off and a return in 2007. It's been sidelined ever since. This time around, the brand replaces Bowman Sterling and offers a selection of young stars that have captivated collectors already this past season or so along with a crop of new draft picks as well. Nearly all autographs are signed on-card for this release.
Buzz-worthy numbers: Facts about 2015 Panini Contenders baseball, which arrives on Wednesday

Here are some facts touting Panini America's latest baseball set, 2015 Panini Contenders, which arrives on Wednesday, Nov. 11, packing some prospect debuts and plenty of international, prep and college talents in their teams' colors.
54 -- There will be 54 players who are appearing on their first autographs in this one, according to the company, with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Victor Robles among them. Guerrero is the son of the former big-leaguer and will aim to begin his MLB career in Canada as a Blue Jays signee. (His dad, of course, began as an Expo nearly 20 years ago back in 1996.) Robles is a highly touted Nationals outfielder.
2 -- That's the number of boxes in a case that will pack an autograph from either Cubs catcher Kyle Schwarber, Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager or Red Sox prospect Yoan Moncada. Schwarber will be seen in his Indiana Hoosiers gear but is already on the minds of many collectors as is Seager, who will be found as part of the product's USA Baseball contingent. Moncada is a new international signee who has very little cardboard so far.
