Mascot Relics offer fun new twist inside 2017 Topps Opening Day
Tomorrow's the day that 2017 Topps Opening Day officially arrives -- depending on your weather, of course -- but the meteorological news is far from the big buzz of today.
The game-changer in this one? A set of mascot-worn Relic cards.
Yep, those fuzzballs of the diamond can be found in some new ways and beside the cards of the hot dogs at the concessions stand when you tear into packs of this low-end brand.
S. Preston's Minimalist Mascots finally get official MLB licensing nod
If you're a long-time reader of The Buzz, you should remember sports artist S. Preston, who focuses on the small details and builds artwork around those little things that sports fans see and appreciate.
After a year of waiting for MLB licensing, Preston's work is back with a new series of Minimalist Mascots prints, which are now available with a focus on the fast and furry-ous stars often found running around the ballpark.
The pieces were part of his portfolio back when we first visited his work in December but could not be sold because they were not licensed. Now, though, they are available to fans.
Mascot autographs, stadium & ticket Relics add some unusual hits to 2016 Topps MLB Wacky Packages
The newest Wacky Packages release from Topps is one that pokes fun at Major League Baseball while also bringing some new looks at its biggest stars.
You know, its mascots.
Beyond the 90 MLB-spoofing stickers in 2016 Topps MLB Wacky Packages (click here for our First Buzz preview from October), there are autographs from five notable mascots, five big-leaguers and a selection of Relics from two different areas of the game.
