Breaking Bad
Check those Bowman Draft card backs ... for some weird facts
Have you looked at your 2019 Bowman Draft card backs yet?
It's fine if you haven't -- we know you're busy looking for the new big names, their colorful Chrome parallels and, of course, their autographs -- but there's always one part of this Bowman release that can surprise with either basic stuff one might not know (since the players are new to cardboard) or some downright trivial things that mean nothing when it comes to the field of play.
It's those "Up Close" blurbs that are worth a look.
The card of top pick Adley Rutschman actually has one of the simpler and more straight-forward items on his card. He's not one of those cards who drops references to Fortnite, Taylor Swift, Coke vs. Pepsi, Chick-Fil-A, Game of Thrones or even an interest in nuclear engineering. One card even notes a top prospect who had a specific walk-up song at age 10 ... what were you doing at that age?
Let's take a look at the backs of some 2019 Bowman Draft baseball cards ...

If you've been to a toy store lately, you might have seen one of a couple of new items that are throwbacks on the play front with some fun nods to pop culture that just might make them worthy for your collection.
They're called POPTATERS made by PPW Toys and the newest releases are for a pair of famous science fiction franchises meeting the Mr. Potato Head galaxy for the first time.
Artist offers pop culture twist on Little Golden Books with "Storytime"
If you're a certain age, you may remember Little Golden Books, which are beginning readers' first licks at the literary world.
They've been around since the 1940s -- and are still around today -- but one illustrator has created a new take on these stories with a series of prints and a book that collects his past works all in one.
His name is Joey Spiotto and the Los Angeles-based artist is big on Storytime.
GreenLight brings Hollywood's memorable wheels to collectors
New information has come to light, man.
Fans of The Big Lebowski and other Hollywood creations from the big and small screens may have an extra reason to visit the toy aisle or thanks to GreenLight Collectibles and its Hollywood line that has been bringing vehicles from the reel world to us all.
Ok ... these specialty toys aren't exactly new -- they've been going since roughly 2011 -- but there have been as many as 15 series so far and Walter Sobchak's van was among them and that's enough that Buzz needed to take a look.
And we've found plenty more cool stuff.
Gallery: Sideshow's high-end figures must be seen to be believed
Sometimes you just get sidetracked by an email.
That was the case Friday morning when the latest images from Sideshow Toys spotlighting its newest (and some past) Premium Format figures arrived in Buzz's inbox.
They're premium in size -- in the case of Deadpool here 24 inches tall and 14 pounds -- and premium in price. But, most importantly, they're premium in appeal as they are ridiculously detailed in their varying forms.
Black November Wave 3 is here -- and here are five deals to consider
If you hadn't noticed, there are a number of boxes with discounted prices now over on the mothership as BlowoutCards.com's Black November Wave 3 hits today.
Many of the discounts were dramatic enough that Buzz had to sit down and ponder the possibilities in many of the boxes and cases -- and here are five boxes that caught this collector’s eye.
2009 Topps Mayo football hobby box
Buying older football boxes can be tough at times as players can come and go quite quickly, but, then again, so did this brand -- but there aren't many sets like it. It's retro-styled football in the realm of Allen & Ginter with some downright unusual inclusions. Example? It's the home of a Tim Kaine "Rookie Card" -- perhaps notable to some collectors out there since we're so close to Election Day. Mayo was only around two seasons, and it includes non-traditional autographs and Relics along with a decent mix of big football names. (The big names remain big but the rookies may not be.) For the price this one's got potential and it's bound to be very, very different than other NFL brands out there -- no matter who you pull.
Funko's ReAction figures bring retro style and memorable TV/movie characters to toy aisles (gallery)
If you're like Buzz, you've probably seen Funko's ReAction figures in chain stores and marveled at some of the quirky inclusions in the various lines.
It's an ongoing series of 3.75-inch figures in a distinct style reminiscent of Kenner's original Star Wars toys right down to the line's logo and the clamshell packaging.
The difference, though?
