Baseball America's Preview & Top 100 issue includes bonuses
A new season of MLB action, a new season of top prospects ... and a new season of cardboard treasures inside.
Baseball America's 2025 Preview & Top 100 Prospects issue is here and just like its Best of 2024 Awards issue and its 2024 Draft Preview this one is jam-packed with everything one needs to know at its time of year -- and it again also includes some bonus collectibles.
Beyond the player rankings, profiles and scouting reports for this season, this issue's bonus insert should add to its demand. The inserts are similar to Sports Illustrated for Kids trading cards, which are heavily collected and, in the case of iconic stars and newcomers, often quite valuable.
Keep reading for the details and a look at what's in this one.

Carding Baseball America's MLB Prospects Hot Sheet (Sept. 4)
Here's a look at the top five players on this week's Baseball America Top MLB Prospects Hot Sheet and their seasons so far. It's a little something to help those who might want to dabble with prospecting -- some basics on their baseball cards alongside a highlight line from those more scouting-minded. We may not do this every week, but we'll check in on BA's top crop from time to time for the remainder of the season.
1. DJ Peters, OF, Dodgers — Double-A Tulsa Drillers
Season so far: Hitting .236 with 23 doubles, 29 homers, 60 RBI and 1 SB in 131 games
Baseball America’s highlight line: "Peters remains the same balance of pluses and minuses that he was going into last year, but he’s a lot higher profile now thanks to 55 home runs in two seasons. Peters hit 27 home runs in the California League in 2017. Thanks to his furious finish, he finished with 28 home runs in the Texas League in 2018. ... The power is still some of the best in the minors, and there aren’t many center fielders anywhere in pro ball who can crank 25-plus home runs in a season."
CARDBOARD BASICS
Approximate card total (so far): 175
First Chrome auto: 2018 Bowman
One auto to consider: 2013 Leaf Perfect Game
Buzz’s card take: He's got fewer than 50 certified autos so that, along with his homers, could spark some competition from bidders. He's only got autos from this season and then his earliest ones from Leaf Perfect Game five years ago. He's also in 2018 Panini Chronicles where you can find some variety in ink.Keep reading for the rest of the top five ...
Manny Machado's first Dodgers baseball cards come with ink
Dodger Blue is just one of the parallel colors for Manny Machado's first baseball cards as a member of his new team and almost all of his cards will come with blue-ink autographs, too.
Thanks to Topps Now.
Topps revealed the rainbow of six autos atop Machado's standard card as part of a huge 13-card day as the company's real-time baseball card program returns from the All-Star Break.
You can thank the Cincinnati Reds for St. Patrick's Day MLB caps

But, no worries, the MLB St. Patrick's Day caps are available now from New Era.
If you didn't know, the tradition is something that you can thank the Cincinnati Reds for as that team started this spring training trend almost 40 years ago.

Julio Urias to make MLB debut for Dodgers Friday night vs. Mets
It's go time for Julio Urias.
The highly touted Los Angeles Dodgers pitching prospect will make his major league debut on Friday night in New York against the defending National League champion Mets. He'll be the youngest starter in MLB since Felix Hernandez back in 2005.
The 19-year-old from Mexico was 4-1 with an 1.10 ERA and 44 strikeouts in 41 innings this season for Triple-A Oklahoma City. Baseball America ranked him fourth overall on its 2016 Top 100 list -- the best pitcher of the bunch. He's actually in his fourth season as a pro after signing with the Dodgers as an international free agent in 2013.

St. Patrick's Day unis coming soon in MLB & you can own them a few ways
They've snuck their way into memorabilia cards in recent years making the actual items used on the field a bit more accessible, but one of the simplest traditions in Major League Baseball is nearly here.Every big-league team wears green uniforms of some type during action on or around St. Patrick's Day and, of course, fans can get in on the action, too.
Aroldis Chapman could be hobby hit as closer for Los Angeles Dodgers
Update: The trade was never finalized with Chapman facing some off-field issues.
Cuban fireballer and four-time All-Star Aroldis Chapman is likely on his way to Los Angeles after the Dodgers traded a pair of prospects for him on Monday.
What does it mean for Chapman's baseball cards?
Well, it should mean good things with the Los Angeles spotlight shining bright -- no matter how rough things might get for the seemingly always under-achieving team that has won its division the last three years only to be prematurely bounced from the postseason.
