Funko adds cereal -- with toys -- to its collectable empire
Remember the days of ripping into a cereal box for a bonus item when you were younger?
Funko does -- and it will have a line of new Funko's Cereals hitting toy and specialty shops in June. The prizes inside? New Funko Pop toys.
"One of the fun things is we are about to release our own line of cereal, with a mini-Pop inside," Funko founder Mike Becker told the Coronado (Calif.) Eagle & Journal. "We got all the cool licenses like He-Man, Wonder Woman, Elvira Mistress of the Dark, Freddy Krueger and our own Freddy Funko. We start shipping to stores in June and we have the distribution set up and the product is pre-sold. It’s just one more of those feel-good Funko items."
Funko launches new line of 'Vnyl.' toys at San Diego Comic-Con
"There’s no 'i' in Vynl. because there’s always two of them!"
No, it's not a typo -- and that explains it for the naming of a new line of vinyl figures launching from Funko that's making its debut at San Diego Comic-Con later this month.
"Funko is proud to introduce Vynl., a brand new line of stylized vinyl collectibles created with pop culture fanatics in mind," the company said in a statement. "Vynl. will take a new approach to collecting by showcasing the intricate relationships between beloved characters through a playful new aesthetic ... every Vynl. release will contain two figures in order to highlight the connection between both characters and play off of their respective storylines."

The first wave includes four three-packs of figures with Ryu, M. Bison, Vega, Ken, Dhalsim, Balrog, Blanka, Guile, Sagat, Chun-Li, Zangief and E. Honda.
