BuzzMania 8: An Absolute AEW Allure Invasion II (Hour 5)
The biggest weekend in pro wrestling is here with WrestleMania 41 set for this Saturday and Sunday from Las Vegas. We'll make today a big one for wrestling collectors right here on The Buzz with #BuzzMania8, a marathon of wrestling breaks all day long.
This one is a replay of Hour 4 from last year -- a hobby box vs. a blaster box of a colorful favorite of mine where it's got a lot of variety but the hits don't always flow all that regularly. Can they deliver this year?

The biggest weekend in pro wrestling is here with WrestleMania 40 set for this Saturday and Sunday from Philadelphia. We'll make today a big one for wrestling collectors right here on The Buzz with #BuzzMania7, a marathon of WWE wax box/pack breaks all day long.
This one is a rip of a release that's about collecting basics -- mostly base and inserts with a lot of variety. With autographs being quite rare on the retail front and somewhat rare in hobby, I played it safe for the dollars with a break of a few discounted blaster boxes.

This hour's break pits a hobby box vs. a retail box for a brand that's stacked with color and variety but doesn't necessarily guarantee any hits. How do they compare in how they deliver? Let's see ...

Buzz Buys: Anthony Fauci's Rookie Card, big Bo Bichette, Kobe, Sasha Banks, AEW's start & Mark Wahlberg's new NFL card?
Buzz buys and busts a lot of boxes right here for Buzz Breaks, but one of my goals is to rip a little less and talk more about cardboard that I -- and you -- might like. One way to do that? Simple show and tell -- present a few pick-ups and say why they captured my attention.
So, with all that said, here are a few Buzz Buys ... and this time around there's some new stuff and some throwbacks as I await some new arrivals.

IN THE HOUSE (BUT NOT IN THE STRIKE ZONE)
The Card: Dr. Anthony Fauci 2020 Topps Now (/51,512)
The Price: $6 (direct from Topps)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This card was a fun surprise after his awful first pitch to start the season on Opening Day last month and it set an all-time record for Topps Now with more than 51,000 copies sold. That's more than double the previous record for Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s MLB debut last year. Why? The novelty of it and the market has been strong for this card as many non-collectors apparently want one. That price has made me glad I did a handful. I may or may not slab one as I had planned as these didn't come in as razor-sharp/perfectly clean as other Topps Now cards I've done. (And also because grading prices are getting steeper.) The real question for people out there ... did anybody get a parallel? Those are new for Now this year.

First Buzz: 2020 Leaf Ultimate Wrestling cards
What: 2020 Leaf Ultimate Wrestling cards
Arrives: Aug. 7
Box basics: Six autograph cards per box (10 boxes per case)
Order: Click here (live soon)What's buzz-worthy: Leaf offers up the closest thing to an AEW wrestling set -- and plenty of past and present stars from the WWE and around the world -- in a release that's got "an assortment of stars not possible in any other wrestling release."
Buzz Buys: Nick Chubb RCs, Stranger Things ink, AEW's Elite, Juan Soto slabs, Sasha Banks, Pat Neshek ink & plenty more
Buzz buys and busts a lot of boxes right here for Buzz Breaks, but one of my goals just might be to rip fewer blasters this year and talk more about cardboard that I -- and you -- might like. One way to do that? Simple show and tell -- present a few pick-ups and say why they captured my attention. Would they capture yours? I'd be interested to know -- sometimes they might, sometimes they won't and that's fine. It's a buyer's market out there with plenty of options and bargains as well as high-end gems to chase.
So, with all that said, here are a few Buzz Buys ... and this time around there's a little bit of everything.

BUZZ IS FINE WITH NINES
The Card: Nick Chubb 2018 Donruss Optic Blue Prizm (/149) Rookie Card parallel (BGS 9)
The Price: $14
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This guy was the top RB in the NFL in Week 4 with a monster game (and this one was purchased before that) but I'm thinking that he's among the better buys for last year's rookies right now because of where he's playing and the potential. If the Browns win big or at least improve impressively and have some moments, the 2018 RCs of Baker Mayfield and Chubb will arguably be the cards looked at first -- and Mayfield is already expensive so this guy might have more potential of the two. The basic versions of his cards are pretty easy finds, even when graded, so parallels are the way to go first in my mind. I grabbed this one since it was a tad cheaper than other versions but perhaps lower than it might be if it had been graded subgrades. (I'm fine with this type of BGS card as long as there's no obvious flaw showing to make you wonder.)

What: 2019 Leaf Wrestling Autographed Photograph Edition

Box basics: Five autographed photos in every box (12 boxes per case)

Buzz Buys: USA Baseball game-used gems, more Muhammad Ali, vintage Neil Armstrong, WWE and AEW star ink & more
Buzz buys and busts a lot of boxes right here for Buzz Breaks, but one of my goals just might be to rip fewer blasters this year and talk more about cardboard that I -- and you -- might like. One way to do that? Simple show and tell -- present a few pick-ups and say why they captured my attention. Would they capture yours? A SMALL USA BASEBALL GEM
The Card: Tony Zych 2009 Upper Deck Signature Stars USA National Team Premier Materials Cap Flag Patches (/4)
The Price: Under $10
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: USA Baseball products have some types of hits you just don't see elsewhere and they aren't all one-of-kind creations, either. Zych was still a college player here but he did make it to The Show for three seasons with the Mariners but he's ultimately not why you see this one here -- it's because it's a unique patch from a cap that's a small version of a larger chase that USA sets are known for. This USA crop in this particular release is stacked between all of the USA ink and mem cards and a strong list of names who have made MLB. Other players with cards like this one in those cheap boxes? Bryce Harper, Manny Machado, Trevor Bauer, Gerrit Cole, Sonny Gray and Kolten Wong. There are 27 players with these cards, though not all have four copies. Either way, this one is a gem to me as I have always had a soft spot for prime USA stuff. Why? Because I've actually pulled some -- they're far from impossible finds and they're not from high-end boxes price-wise.

Patti Lapel brings movie & sports icons to world of collectable pins
In some areas of the sports world, pin collecting is a big deal and has been that way for decades.
Olympic pins, press pins and other areas of collecting in this wearable genre -- one that's arguably bigger away from sports -- can all carry some flair within their pieces, but none of them are like one artist's line of pins showing pop culture icons and carrying nods to sports personalities.
Its name? Patti Lapel.
