Ticket Stud or Ticket Dud? You decide ... here's Chapter 45
With these Ticket Stud or Ticket Dud stories I'm turning just a tiny bit of that energy just a few degrees away from cards (we'll still have plenty of them here) for a different kind of cardboard. What am I doing? Simple ... this is an occasional dip into some random ticket lots -- a show and tell showing something small with a story.
This time? A game from this week -- but back in the day -- in New York.

Black November Wave 3 is here … and here are five I'd grab
If you hadn't noticed, there are a number of boxes with discounted prices right now right here as Blowout Cards' Black November sales are going strong with Wave 3 recently dropping.
Many of the discounts are dramatic enough that Buzz once again had to sit down and ponder the possibilities in many of the boxes and cases -- and here are five boxes/cases that caught this collector’s eye ... and there's far more that just might suit your tastes in the big sale.

MORE THAN JUST MOOKIE ...
2014 Topps Heritage High Number MLB sets and cases
There was a time when these sets were super-affordable and pretty cheap considering they are loaded with Rookie Cards and include an autograph in every box, too. Then Mookie Betts blew up and so did these as people wanted one of his better RCs and a shot at his ink -- he's in there -- but he's also not alone. Here are some of the RCs that have had their ups and downs but are still in here every time -- Masahiro Tanaka, James Paxton, Randal Grichuk, Billy Hamilton, Joe Panik, Jacob deGrom, George Springer, Xander Bogaerts, Kyle Hendricks (his only RC), Yordano Ventura, Kolten Wong, Jose Ramirez, Betts and reigning American League MVP Jose Abreu. It's a pretty strong lineup on one of the best Topps vintage designs, 1965 Topps, if you ask me. Autographs can be found with red ink (/10) atop the normal ones. and that lineup does include Abreu, deGrom, Betts, Springer, Ramirez, Nick Castellanos, Oscar Tavaras, Taijuan Walker, Ventura and a number of other players.Keep reading for a few more boxes you should consider (and are likely to end up in Buzz's cart).

Jacob deGrom and Mookie Betts autos just two big reasons why 2014 Topps Heritage High Number sets are scorchers
Not that long ago, one boxed set was easily found -- and it was a hotbed for Rookie Cards with a few autographs that might have some promise down the line.
That set? It's 2014 Topps Heritage High Number -- and it includes an autograph in every box along with a 100-card set that's stacked. Back then you could land them cheaply -- even for cases -- with red-ink autos an extra draw in a simple update to the 1965 Topps re-do from earlier in the year.
Now? Those same Rookie Cards are still in there -- we just look at them differently. Last night, New York Mets pitcher Jacob deGrom struck out a career-high 14 batters and matched the MLB record of 26 quality starts set by Hall of Famer Bob Gibson to put the focus of The Big Apple on him once again. The biggest driver -- arguably the breakout card -- in this one in recent years has been Mookie Betts after his American League MVP showing last season ... but he's not the only notable here.
Also found in this set? Masahiro Tanaka, James Paxton, Billy Hamilton, Xander Bogaerts, Nick Castellanos, George Springer, Kyle Hendricks, Jose Abreu and Jose Ramirez. Some of then have very few Rookie Cards from that year -- and there's ink for many of them in these boxes, too.
