Are Panini Fortnite cards a best-kept secret? Maybe to some ...
With the recent unveiling of Panini America's third Fortnite card set arriving soon, there's a new chance at some new cardboard that could potentially appeal to millions of gamers out there in the world.
It's easy to say that because it's clear that gaming fans out there are grabbing cards from the first two sets and paying prices that should impress. The game has been around since 2017 on a few platforms, but the Epic Games franchise has only been around for two previous card sets from Panini that started in 2019 (see them all here, including the newest). They're still likely off the radar of many collectors, flippers and rippers out there, though, despite the fact that there are cards to be found that have sold for thousands. Why? I think it's the volume of potential fans and the appeal rarer cards can have. It's common sense as there are more fans fighting over those limited number of cards that are available. (You know, like early Pokémon.)
One example. This Series 1 Crystal card of Peely? In a PSA 9 it sold for more than $4,000 -- and it's not alone among notable recent eBay sales.
