Buzz buys and busts a lot of boxes right here for Buzz Breaks, but one of my goals is to rip a little less and talk more about cardboard that I -- and you -- might like. One way to do that? Simple show and tell -- present a few pick-ups and say why they captured my attention.

So, with all that said, here are a few Buzz Buys ...

HISTORIC INK 
The Card: Rachel Balkovec 2022 Topps Now MiLB Autographs (/99)
The Price: Around $10 (since I had discount rewards piled up) via Topps.com
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This autographed card was a first for Topps Now this year -- some minor-league cardboard -- since as you can see she was a bit of a history-maker in MiLB and baseball in general. Topps Now cards have had delays at times this year with stock shortages and this one was actually initially scheduled to arrive much later this year but it looks like the signing came together faster than expected. I believe this is my first Topps Now auto in my stash. Why? Cost is always a factor -- most are too much for me to bother looking -- but in this case it was about as low as it gets and then I snuck in toward the end of the line and added this on the cheap with rewards points from buys.

If you want to collect 'em all, you'll have to hit an MLB team shop.

Topps and MLB Players Inc. revealed this morning that the 2022 Topps Players Clubhouse baseball card line, which will get a pack of cards into your hands if you buy at least $149 in "officially licensed MLB Players products displaying the MLB Players logo, in a single transaction, at this team store location" beginning on selected dates -- starting today -- while supplies last with a limit of one pack per person.

Packs will not be sold at the participating team shops, according to the announcement.

Year Three will have a new lineup and a new approach.

That's Year Three of the Project from Topps -- Project100 this year to be formal about it -- and this year it's going to be "seasonal" with lineups of five artists releasing cards before it moves onto another. It launches at noon tomorrow.

"The collision of baseball cards and art is here to stay," read the formal announcement from the company. "Topps is handing over the creative reigns to 20 world-class artists to create official MLB Topps trading cards. Topps Project100 invites fans to collect a 100-card checklist that will be released on Topps.com across spring, summer, fall and winter seasons (25 cards per season). We've carefully built Project100 to offer collectors our most-focused and premium art project to date. Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This is a big card, but I'm not totally sure it's $25,000 big ... but it could be given the crazy prices paid for rare stuff these days. This one leads off here just as a reminder that some big names are very possible in this new arrival that was delayed. You get four hits per box and my Buzz Break box ripped yesterday included ink three times. The multi-person autos here include big names that can only be had on cardboard now via stickers but in the Star Wars world the big ink is big no matter what. Don't believe me? His first 10 games as a Chicago Cub have already generated headlines and some new ink in the MLB record books -- as well as a good about of Topps Now cardboard, too, if that's your way to measure popularity.

But Seiya Suzuki has a good amount of other cardboard you might want to chase, too, and there are even Superfractors out there to be found for this new MLB standout.

But first? Some basics. He's hitting .429 (12-for-28) this season with four homers and 11 RBI. He's got nine runs and a pair of doubles in there, too, along with nine strikeouts but nine walks to perhaps even things out. (How that looks so far in the record books? Click here.) In Japan as a member of the Hiroshima Carp he hit 189 homers in nine seasons of Nippon Professional Baseball play before coming to America. His Topps Now cards -- the newest dropped today above -- have averaged 4,562 copies sold so far and the newest will put him over 20,000 cards sold this year.

But, like Buzz said, there are Superfractors out there waiting to be found.

Fast Five is a quick list that might offer a basic starting point for a themed collection or new focus -- five things that could be fun for a beginner or a new way to add something to your stash if you're a grizzled veteran.

This time? Five MLB players who impressed Buzz this week.

BIG NAME, BIG GAME
Vladimir Guerrero Jr., 1B Toronto Blue Jays -- Rookie Cards in 2019 releases
MVP or not, you should all know Guerrero after last season and this year he's atop MLB with four homers in seven games -- and three of those were in a single game against the Yankees on Wednesday night. He's hitting .333 with eight RBI and six runs but I think the key here is that he's a main guy on a team with a crop of young home-grown stars -- and that is a recipe for hobby success if they get things done this season.
