Superman's Lois Lane, Margot Kidder, dies at age 69
One of the biggest names from 1970s/1980s comic book movies is gone.
Margot Kidder, who played super-reporter Lois Lane in the first four Superman films died on Sunday at her home in Livingston, Mont. She was 69.
Her acting career began in the late-1960s and included roles up until last year, but she's best-known for her time across from Christopher Reeve as Clark Kent/Superman beginning with the landmark 1978 film.
"Nothing prepares anyone for that sudden thing of being world-famous, it was such a shock," she said in a past interview. "It wasn't something I really liked or something I was very good at. The man behind the mask and the mayor of Quahog has died.
Adam West, best-known as television's Batman in the 1960s but recently found among those on the Family Guy cast for the last 17 years, had been battling leukemia. He was 88.
"Our dad always saw himself as The Bright Knight and aspired to make a positive impact on his fans' lives," his family said in a statement. "He was and always will be our hero."
