The National tentatively rescheduled for December

This year's National Sports Collectors Convention -- if it happens -- has been rescheduled for Dec. 12-16 in Atlantic City, N.J., according to an announcement from the show promotors on Saturday afternoon.

The move will hinge upon health officials' guidelines for the region with the ultimate decision on whether to cancel this year's show to come in mid-September.

The full statement is as follows ...

"Due to the COVID-19 virus the originally scheduled dates of July 29-Aug. 2, 2020, in Atlantic City are no longer appropriate for the 2020 National Sports Collectors Convention.

"State and federal officials have outlined guidelines for reopening which will likely not be met by those dates. National officials have explored alternative dates and sites in which to hold The National in 2020. The health and safety of our dealers, sponsors, athletes and staff are of the utmost priority. Therefore, we are announcing the postponement of the 2020 National.

"Should state and federal guidelines indicate it is safe to hold an event like the National in 2020, we have tentative plans to hold the event in Atlantic City from Dec. 12-16. We would expect any such guidelines would ensure the safety of our exhibitors and attendees. We will monitor the situation and make a decision by the middle of September. This will allow enough time for participants to plan for the December show, should it be feasible. If it is not deemed safe to hold the event by the end of the year, we will cancel the 2020 National and begin planning for the 2021 National in Chicago (July 28-Aug. 1).

"Exhibitor options are available on the Dealer Information Page. Ticketholders may use previously purchased tickets at the rescheduled event or request a refund by emailing their ticket information to nsccshow@gmail.com."
