Ticket Stud or Ticket Dud? You decide ... here's Chapter 39

.With these Ticket Stud or Ticket Dud stories I'm turning just a tiny bit of that energy just a few degrees away from cards (we'll still have plenty of them here) for a different kind of cardboard. What am I doing? Simple ... this is an occasional dip into some random ticket lots -- a show and tell showing something small with a story.
This time? One from a decade ago this week in the NFL.
Keep reading to see the details this time ... and tell me if you think it's a Ticket Stud or a Ticket Dud.
THE DETAILS ...

What's Buzz-worthy: There are a lot of decent, reliable NFL names in the box score here but "nobody" also could have been an answer for key player above ... and a game like this -- and ultimately names like this a decade later -- make me not regret not dabbling with football cards in the past. So many names come and go and I don't think a lot of them are worth the card prices paid back then ... now imagine that with the inflation and bloat of now. Had this game happened a couple years ago, people would have been clutching their McFadden cards, Riverses, Mathews and Antonio Gates cards and wondered if they had a flipping future ... especially after the nothingburger of this game. Atop that, both teams have moved, so that kinda nixes the home-team appeal here for some I bet. But ... here comes the twist for me ... I was all about to also rip on the ticket itself with some lineman I don't recognize and a fan featured, but ... after I checked the roster from that year the player is Jarret Johnson ... a former Alabama Crimson Tide guy from his next-to-last season of 12 in the league. Ironically, he only appeared on 24 football cards his entire career with nothing after 2007. He doesn't even have any cards with the Chargers.... so now at least this one, which I randomly pulled from a mixed mystery box, has a place per se in my Alabama collection. Just one of the ironies of collecting if you bother to research things.
Stud or Dud? It's a Dud in most aspects just like the game (don't get me wrong ... it counted and that makes this one count more than some preseason soiree) but that last line makes it a winner to me.
