THE BIGGEST BATMAN
The Item: 1966 Topps Batman (Black Bat) No. 1 The Batman (PSA 9)
The Price: $90,000 after 61 bids (ends Dec. 11)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: Are non-sports "rookie cards" a thing? They are to many and this one fits the bill as this first card in the first set for the iconic character -- and it's already delivering big on the auction block where it will end this week. "Norman Saunders' bold brushwork captures the Caped Crusader in motion, surrounded by bursts of color that defined the campy, kinetic energy of 1960s pop culture," reads the Heritage listing. "This stunner is one of the highest-graded examples known, with none higher on the PSA population report ... it embodies the unmatched quality and care behind this legendary collection. Simply put, this is the Batman rookie every serious collector dreams of owning."

A BIG BAT, MAN
The Item: Shohei Ohtani autographed and inscribed 2024 game-used Chandler Bats model SO17.4 bat -- MLB Authenticated with PSA/DNA GU 9.5 grading
The Price: $145,000 after 15 bids (ends Dec. 20)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This fully authenticated gamer is signed in kanji and inscribed to his historic 50-50 season where this photo-matched bat was confirmed to have been used for his seventh, eighth and ninth homers of the legendary MVP campaign that was one for the record books. (See it all at the link.)  "You can be certain that a global audience will be competing for this Chandler SO17.4 lumber," reads the Heritage listing and that's a subtle statement considering this piece is as nice as it can get -- short of a historic plateau or moment piece -- for the biggest name in the game today.

The Item: Michael Jordan & Kobe Bryant 2003 UD Exquisite Collection Dual Logoman All NBA Access Pass Patches (1/1) -- PSA 6
The Price: $912,500 after 10 bids (ends Dec. 19)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: Yep, it's another monster card on the auction block where it's already topping the $1M mark once you tack on the buyer's premium. This one is estimated to push $3M before it's over.
"When Heritage launched the auction for the only Kobe/Jordan dual-autographed double-Logoman trading card on the planet back in August, we were fully confident that the result would be a new world record. And we were proven right," said Heritage in its listing for this one. "That single sale has been a tide lifting countless thousands of boats like this one, another '1/1' masterpiece that shares the dual-Logoman theme of the most famous card on Earth."

THE SUPER BOWL BLING
The Item: Laekin Vakalahi 2024 Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl LIX championship ring
The Price: $47,000 after 23 bids (ends Dec. 20)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: Estimated to top $80,000 when it's over, this ring went to the player and will soon go from his hands to a collector needing the ultimate Eagles piece. "
It was consigned to auction by rookie offensive tackle Laekin Vakalahi himself, a massive New Zealander who earned notice from the Eagles' international scout as a rugby player in Australia," according to Heritage. "The ring's bezel contains 145 diamonds -- one for each of the Eagles' record-setting 145 playoff points, the most in NFL postseason history. 'World Champions' is spelled out in 40 points of diamonds, commemorating the team's 40-point output in Super Bowl LIX." OLD TIMES LIKE THESE ...
The Item: Foo Fighters -- Aug. 29, 2015, Wrigley Field Chicago concert poster
The Price: $65 after five bids (ends Dec. 14)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This one is modern and not quite as high-end as the big-timer memorabilia up for grabs seen here -- but not everything from the many auction lots live right now via Heritage is a six-figure piece. This limited run silkscreen measures 18-by-24 inches and was designed by Emek Golan. It features the band in retro Cubs uniforms with a backdrop reminiscent of T205 cards that arrived just a few years before the venue for this show opened. To bridge the aesthetic generations, this one also has some modern-day foil flash.
