What's Buzz-worthy: What a box ... had this one opened my Heritage experience last year I would have bought a lot more of this one. While that auto could still be topped, landing ink here -- of the rarer Red variety -- makes this a strong box on its own ... and then it delivered the White, Chrome, Black & White and then a run of Reds where those players are good finds for the color. Atop those, a lot of good names arrived here among the other inserts and the base and rookies -- not the norm last year in my rips -- but this one homered on all fronts. ... The larger box format here gives a better view of the mix and the possibilities for sure -- way better than hangers for the variety as those basically have two inserts and the rest base -- and as I said in my other breaks, it just feels like this brand is one that needs to be adding to its lineup as it finishes off the late-1970s if the goal is to sell more ... this one still needs more. This truly good A+ box was an exception from my ripping -- but H still needs to deliver more ... or at least deliver cleanly as this one did. Hopefully the still-to-come Heritage High Number will arrive with a lot of the messiness here for stock and production cleaned up and a solid lineup of newcomers on retro cards that many, many collectors still appreciate even if they aren't chasing big-mojo hits via breaks. The rest of the 1970s Heritage years to come may be challenging but revisiting the 1980s will be strong once/if we get there, too. This box shows how the brand can deliver well without breaking the bank ... and that makes for more collectors (like me) buying more boxes when they don't have to sell it all to pay for more because they over-did it. This one, this time, was a winner on the cheap. The hobby needs more brands like this one.
Product Grade: B
Box Grade: A+ (red-ink auto, Chrome, plenty of parallels with colors to match players and ... plenty of star power)
Fun Grade: A
