Mystery Box Buzz Break: Zobie Mystery Autograph Grab Bag
This entry was posted on January 9, 2026.

Mystery Box Buzz Break is a new series here on The Buzz -- it's essentially a Buzz Break but only for "mystery boxes" that seem to be everywhere these days -- and not just in the sports realm. Like this and want to see more? Is there a box you'd want to see busted? Send Buzz an email at BlowoutBuzz@blowoutcards.com.
The mystery box: Zobie Mystery Autograph Grab Bag (Back Friday edition)
Where to buy: Via Zobie Productions (now sold out) ... find non-sports cards at BlowoutCards.com
Keep reading for a full breakdown and a gallery of what was in this box.

Items in this mystery box: Three autographed 8-by-10 photos (for the Black Friday version)
Names on photos: Andrew McCarthy in Weekend At Bernie's, Maria Zhang in Avatar: The Last Airbender and Missi Pyle in Dodgeball (all Zobie authenticated)
What's Buzz-worthy: A Black Friday special got me to bite on a mystery box from an autograph promoter more in the non-sports realm with this one for just $30. It's come and gone, though, with their typical mystery or subscription mystery boxes being around the same price (but with some ups and downs depending on genres) and typically just for one auto, but not always. Autographed photos, Funko Pop! figures and more from the worlds of movies, TV, anime, music, wrestling and more are among some of the options from this Texas-based company right now. ... This one yielded some familiar names with Pyle being a face you probably know from a number of roles sat the link above but you might not recognize here and then McCarthy from some 198os hits like Pretty In Pink, Mannequin and St. Elmo's Fire. I didn't know Zhang but the Zobie sticker let me look up the info for the auto and that pointed me in the direction of The Last Airbender, which I recognized but never watched. They do a lot in the pop culture realm, especially anime and many other properties who have Funko Pop! figures but there's plenty more up for grabs from them. The price was right for me here to roll the dice on a mystery box and I feel like it delivered pretty well for the price. Would I do other genres where I might not know a name and there's only one inside? Maybe not ... but it might depend on the genre, too.
Product Grade: A (good value with Black Friday edition ... regular boxes are typically one auto for about same price)
Box Grade: A-
Fun Grade: A-
