Red Sonja Blind Bag comic packs coming via Kickstarter

This sword-wielding warrior’s packs can include sketch covers, rare variants, autographs, cards and more in there.

A Kickstarter campaign to bring Red Sonja Blind Bags launched this week via Kickstarter, aiming to put premium pieces in collectors hands with a mix of five items in every pack every time.

It’s the creation of Dynamite Toys & Games and already has pledges topping $31,000 so far via more than 140 backers after having a goal of only $1,973 when it launched. That number was met in minutes, meaning this one will be happening and in the hands of all who back the project -- as long as they are in before its April 28 deadline.

Each bag will include five items ... here’s a rundown directly from the campaign:

1 -- "An extremely rare limited-edition metal or holofoil variant by a rogues gallery of incredible artists. These all-new variants have been made exclusively for this campaign -- so the rarity is off the charts. Only a very, very small amount of each cover is being made and these editions will retail for at least $100 by themselves. It's like getting everything else in the pack for free.”  (See even more in the gallery below.)

2 -- "A file copy of a Red Sonja issue signed by Shannon Kingston, the famous Red Sonja cosplayer. You could get any number of infamous covers including cosplay covers featuring Shannon as the She-Devil with a Sword."

3 -- "An exclusive Red Sonja blank sketch cover on the new launch issue of the series. Sketch covers are harder and harder to find -- you can use this to have your favorite artist draw their best Red Sonja sketch at the next convention you go to. And as a special bonus, a few lucky fans will actually pull a one-of-a-kind Ken Haeser commissioned cover art sketch on their blank cover. Will you be one of the lucky few?"

4 -- "Super rare Red Sonja trading cards including exclusive Chromium cards. These are a trading card collector's dream come true."

5 -- "Exclusive Red Sonja Challenge Coin -- add one of several brand-new challenge coins to your collection making this bag have actual treasure. That's the way to finish off an awesome collection of Red Sonja comics and collectibles."

Each $100 pledge bag contains at least $250 retail value, according to the company, with some finds pushing them to $500.

Separate pledges for collectors also can land a Chrome trading card ($20, or $55 for a three-pack), a Metal trading card ($25, or $70 for a three-pack), gold collector coin ($25), original sketch card ($50), J. Scott Campbell lithograph ($50), a sketch edition mystery blind bag with a guaranteed sketch inside ($150), a box of 2025 Red Sonja Deluxe Ultra Premium trading cards ($1,200) and even one-of-a-kind original Red Sonja cover art or card art from Roberto Castro ($1,973 per piece).
