"The Latvian Laser" has been shooting things up on the court of late and there's one thing that matters right now with that.

Davis Bertans appears on just one Rookie Card.

That one comes from back in 2016-17 Panini Threads and it's got seven parallels and that's it for his standard NBA cardboard, though there is a very small sliver of stuff out there to collect. He's in his fourth NBA season and first with the Washington Wizards where he's averaging 15.8 points and 4.7 rebounds a game mostly coming off the bench. He spent the last three seasons with the San Antonio Spurs where his career-highs for a campaign included 8.0 points and 3.5 rebounds per last season.

We should all know by now that 2019-20 Panini Prizm is a phenomenon when it comes to NBA cards this season -- and a global phenomenon, too, as the league with global appeal also now has Choice cards popping up now from elsewhere in the world.

If one opts to take the challenge to try and collect 'em all -- it might be tougher than ever with several formats in this release -- you'll need a total of 41 cards per player. That's a basic card and then 40 parallels -- and there are technically more as some players have photo variations (but we'll leave those be for now).

Zion Williamson is a clear and present force in this year's version -- however, he's not alone as it's a huge 300-card set of past and present players as well as rookies. That's a factor that also makes the challenge an interesting one, too, in that everything gets so spread out. Case in point? Not every version of even Williamson has surfaced and hit eBay just yet -- and he'd be more likely to show than, say, Kevin Huerter ... the guy I seem to keep finding in my packs.

Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This year's rookie crop is a strong one -- and there might be more potential than the 2018 class that sparked serious interest in this release last year. It was seemingly plentiful all year long and then poof -- the rocketship took off. This year's isn't super-cheap (right now) but some of that fuel seemingly has gone to Series 2 since it has earlier cards for a couple of high-profile guys -- Series 2 is pricey and surprised me -- but this one has some of those guys' cards as well as a number of others. Topps Chrome also seems to have some very good potential in my mind, too, but these jumbo boxes include a ton of stuff and the chances you get at parallels and other stuff here - in volume -- put this one at the top of my list. (And if you're on a budget and don't want to swing hard on this one -- you might look for blasters of Series 2 and Update both here and at retail ... those can still be found. These won't last as long as those, though.)
