What's Buzzing Today: The Black Friday thread you must read ... along with some breaks you must see (well, except not the one) on this day of turkey.
Black Friday is nearly here & here are five preview wave deals to consider
If you hadn't noticed this month, there have been a number of boxes with discounted prices now over on the mothership as BlowoutCards.com's Black November has been rocking the hobby.
Now, though, we're prepping for Black Friday with a preview wave of what's to come.
Many of the discounts were dramatic enough that Buzz had to sit down and ponder the possibilities in many of the boxes and cases -- and here are five options that caught this collector’s eye. (Be sure to click this link to see how much these will be discounted.)
2015 Bowman Chrome baseball hobby box
The rookie auto crop isn't what a lot of Chrome buyers scout first but the list of names found in this one is impressive -- Byron Buxton, Carlos Rodon, Francisco Lindor, Joc Pederson, Kris Bryant and Noah Syndergaard. There are, of course, then the prospects and plenty of rainbow potential that the Chromies are known to collect in bulk. A lower price on these boxes should entice more than a few rippers -- and cards like this Bryant auto could be in there with two autographs in every box.Board Buzz: Must-read threads on the Blowout Forums (Nov. 23)

What's Buzzing Today: Nothing but breaks today -- with some surprises.
Blowout's Thanksgiving Contest: Predict NFL points scored & win a 2016 Panini Prime Signatures case
Are you ready for some football cards? BlowoutCards.com has a chance for you to score big as part of our preparations for Black Friday.
In a comment right here on The Buzz, guess the total number of points scored in all three Thanksgiving NFL games without going over. The closest to predicting the total point score for the Vikings-Lions, Redskins-Cowboys and Steelers-Colts games -- without going over -- gets a 2016 Donruss football set.
If the total is guessed exactly, the winner gets a sealed 12-box case of 2016 Panini Prime Signatures -- a $660 value.
All entries must be entered before the first game starts at 12:30 Eastern time on Thursday. Comments will be held here before they are approved in batches. (Don’t worry if you don’t see your answer appear immediately on the page. It will show up.)
In the event of a tie, the first correctly posted entry based on the timestamp wins. Limit one entry per email address.

The Blowout Cards Forums are where thousands of collectors converge daily to discuss, well, a little bit of everything. Here are five threads about collecting and more that you should check out right now.
What's Buzzing Today: Another day of nothing but the breaks ... with some variety.
First Buzz: 2016 Panini National Treasures Collegiate baseball cards
What: 2016 Panini National Treasures Collegiate baseball cards
Arrives: Jan. 4
Box basics: Six autographs or memorabilia cards and two base/parallels per eight-card box (four boxes per case)
What’s buzz-worthy: National Treasures presence goes collegiate for baseball with top young stars and legends from the past all in one place in what Panini says is smaller than Immaculate Collection Collegiate, which it previously said was “the smallest case run in company history.” So now this one is the rarest.

The return of a familiar name in football comes on Wednesday with 2016 Panini Playoff, a brand that carries a modern feel with a new look that's still familiar for the retro name.
There's also some simplicity with a small number of parallel types that carry across all of the base cards, inserts and hits to go along with a retro (affordable) price.
First Buzz: 2016-17 Super Break Basketball
What: 2016-17 Super Break Basketball
Arrives: Dec. 5
Box basics: Two buyback items per box (four boxes per case)
What's buzz-worthy: Super Break's first basketball-only product of the year includes a mix of memorabilia atop buyback cards.
They Tweeted It ... Joe Orlando & one big Peyton Manning card
He was honored in Indy this weekend and his card sold for a big price. This 1998 Peyton Manning autographed card closed at $52,580: pic.twitter.com/pE4GUKU7A6
— Joe Orlando (@JoeOrlandoPSA) November 21, 2016
Sometimes a big sale speaks for itself, but a PSA 10 copy of one of Peyton Manning's top autographed Rookie Cards might say even more.
That's not a typo -- $52,580 for a card that's less than 20 years old. (Not bad.)

Jimmie Johnson's record-tying seventh Sprint Cup title should help his under-appreciated cards
Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt and Jimmie Johnson.
Those are the three most-successful drivers in NASCAR history when it comes to season championships and Johnson joined the other legends on Sunday when he won his seventh Sprint Cup at age 41.
Simply put, he's easily the best driver of the here and now -- and his cardboard is among the most-overlooked when it comes to value vs. performance. There are others who have done far less who sell just as well or better.

Black November Wave 10 is here — and here are five deals to consider
If you hadn't noticed, there are a number of boxes with discounted prices now over on the mothership as BlowoutCards.com's Black November Wave 10 hits today.
Many of the discounts were dramatic enough that Buzz had to sit down and ponder the possibilities in many of the boxes and cases -- and here are five boxes that caught this collector’s eye.
2013 Panini Beach Boys hobby box
This box is admittedly probably off the radar of many collectors but that doesn't mean that it can't deliver. In fact, these can deliver well if you pull the right ink. This Brian Wilson card here? It sold for more than you might think and he's not alone when it comes to autos in there that have topped the $100 mark. Like the Panini Country release, there are non-traditional collectors chasing cards here to build sets or chase stuff they like with no regard for what something "should" cost based on what it is or its scarcity. Meanwhile, they may not know where to buy boxes -- or not want to. Those things can lead to some surprising results -- and that's not the only surprise. Check out the price on this box.Buzz Break: 2016 Panini Prizm football cards (blaster box)
From time to time, Buzz will break a box of something and post the results here. Like this and want to see more? Or maybe there's a box you'd want to see busted? Send Buzz an email at BlowoutBuzz@blowoutcards.com.
The box: 2016 Panini Prizm football cards (blaster box)
Where to buy: BlowoutCards.com (for hobby jumbo)
Packs per box: 6
Cards per pack: 4
Cards in this box: 24
Base set completion: 16 of 200 (8 percent)
Duplicates: 0Notables on base cards – Dez Bryant, Le'Veon Bell, Sammy Watkins, Jordan Matthews
First Buzz: 2016 Panini Plates & Patches football cards
What: 2016 Panini Plates & Patches football cards
Arrives: Feb. 8
Box basics: One on-card autograph or rookie patch auto, one patch card and one printing plate per five-card box (12 boxes per case).
What's buzz-worthy: Plates & Patches returns after a five-year break with a 1/1 card in every box while also carrying a lower-end suggested retail price for a brand that has every card limited to no more than 99 copies.

Black November Wave 9 is here — and here are five deals to consider
If you hadn't noticed, there are a number of boxes with discounted prices now over on the mothership as BlowoutCards.com's Black November Wave 9 hits today.
Many of the discounts were dramatic enough that Buzz had to sit down and ponder the possibilities in many of the boxes and cases -- and here are five boxes that caught this collector’s eye.
2016 Panini Classics football hobby box
Just because it's not expensive doesn't mean it isn't one of the best releases of the year so far -- and if you ask this collector Classics is a contender for just that. You'll find one autograph per box and memorabilia cards atop the ink in others. There also is one buyback auto per 20-box case with some big names to be found. This one's retro-styled but brand-new design (with a nod to 1983 Topps) is strong with some quirky variations and touches that also add to the oldschool feel. You can see more of those and a gallery in past Buzz stories here. Aside from the hits, the printing quality and design here on retro stock make this a fun rip no matter what. Had Buzz not jumped on some cases in Black November previously, this would be in the ol' cart.First Buzz: 2016-17 Panini Revolution basketball cards
What: 2016-17 Panini Revolution basketball cards
Arrives: Feb. 1
Box basics: At least two on-card autographs per eight-box inner case (16 boxes per case via two inners)
What's buzz-worthy: The autographs won't be found in every box but there will be four Rookie Cards, four inserts and eight parallels per box. One of those parallels will be limited to no more than 100 copies.

What: 2016 Black Gold football cards
Arrives: Jan. 25
Box basics: At least four autographs per two-pack box (eight boxes per case).

Black November Wave 8 is here — and here are five deals to consider
If you hadn't noticed, there are a number of boxes with discounted prices now over on the mothership as BlowoutCards.com's Black November Wave 8 hits today.
Many of the discounts were dramatic enough that Buzz had to sit down and ponder the possibilities in many of the boxes and cases -- and here are five boxes that caught this collector’s eye.
2015 Panini Prizm baseball hobby box
You won't find as many packs in these boxes, but you'll find two autographs and more than one parallel or insert card in nearly every single pack. The Prizm rainbow here is as strong as it gets and there are plenty of big names to be found among a young crop of signers and a number of big past names -- Kris Bryant, Aaron Judge, Luis Severino, Corey Seager, Addison Russell, Joc Pederson, Steven Moya, David Price, Will Clark, Jose Canseco and plenty more. It's not as cheap as it used to be as these boxes have heated up some but they'll remain a fun option to rip as long as they are still around.
Buzz Break: 2016 Panini Absolute football cards (blaster box)
