This time? Five names in the news you could collect
MR. MVP?
Eddie Rosario, OF, Atlanta Braves: With Atlanta a win away from the World Series it's been this guy who has been a surprising and dominating performer for a team loaded with young and popular options for collecting. He's not that -- he's a trade grab earlier this year -- but he doesn't have a lot of past cards at key points (first prospect and Rookie Cards) and that makes for an easier and cheaper (so far) option to collect somebody on a heater. He's a free agent after this season ends but he's been playing so well that could mean he stays or dollar signs if he goes. He had a two-homer game last night (the second homer spoiled his chance at the cycle) and it was his second four-hit game of the NLCS (10-for-17) where he's hitting .588. He doesn't have a boatload of cards overall and has Rookie Cards in just five 2015 releases -- Bowman Chrome, Topps Update, Topps Chrome Update, Topps Heritage High Number and then an auto-mem RC in National Treasures limited to 99 copies. His Bowman Draft debut was way back in 2010 and his only other prospect cards that year are in Pro Debut. His stuff isn't super-pricey but his playing so well should mean more of the rarer stuff gets posted out there if you're looking.Keep reading for four more making up the list this time.

Finally ... a four-year NBA veteran gets a Rookie Card
It's not a card that will make you rich, it's not one that will change your life -- but it's one that is a bit of a finale while also being a first.
It's a Rookie Card -- and it finishes up a tale that started, for me, months ago when I documented the cardboard enigma that is Chris Boucher, a center for the Toronto Raptors who has had quite a journey to an everyday spot in the league and and an odd one when it comes to cardboard.
His first season? Not one card -- but that made sense as he played just one minute in one game, though there are players who have done less and had more cardboard. His second season? Nope, not at least until the season was over.
Keep reading for the details of this oddity.

HOW 'BOUT THEM PICKS?
Trevon Diggs -- CB, Cowboys (Rookie Cards in 2020 boxes)
Defensive stars rarely appear here -- it seems like most buyers just don't dig even the most tenacious of D when it comes to cardboard -- but if you're wanting to collect without breaking the bank then those guys on defense can make for some easier chases at times. This guy? He might not apply right now on that cheaper part of the equation, but he's doing things that make him get noticed and all you had to do was look at the last few minutes of the fourth quarter on Sunday between the Cowboys and Patriots. His league-leading seventh interception of the year was a pick-six off his old Alabama teammate Mac Jones -- and he's one of four players in league history to have an interception in six consecutive games to start a season. (The first since 2003.) His seven picks though six games is something only previously done by Hall of Famer Rod Woodson back in 1993. He has a lot of rookie-year cardboard last year and actually had stuff in USA Football sets in 2015, but his best pieces will be the cardboard in his Cowboys colors and perhaps some with full sigs vs. his simplified TD signature. He's having a big year -- so now may not be the best time to chase -- but now will likely be the time where the better stuff shows up on the market.Keep reading for four more making up the list this time.

Buzz buys and busts a lot of boxes right here for Buzz Breaks, but one of my goals is to rip a little less and talk more about cardboard that I -- and you -- might like. One way to do that? Simple show and tell -- present a few pick-ups and say why they captured my attention.
So, with all that said, here are a few Buzz Buys.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL ICONS
The Card: Paul "Bear" Bryant & Knute Rockne 2010 Panini Century Collection Souvenir Stamps Sports Combos (two stamps dual material) (/100)
The Price: More than I'll admit ... but it's a keeper.
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This is just the second time I've grabbed one of these key memorabilia cards with a piece of a fedora worn by Bryant and a jacket from Rockne -- two of the greatest coaches in the history of college football. Rockne has a number of memorabilia cards out there (more than 50) but Bryant only has a literal handful of cards -- and almost all of them were in this release. Why? Hats aren't all that big. As far as I know, all but a 1/1 card or two is in this release ... meanwhile, the prices for the few Bryant fedoras that may exist -- if they ever hit the market again -- won't be card-conducive in the future since they are pricey. The last two Bryant houndstooth fedoras auctioned? Together, they topped $100,000 on the auction block. These are limited to only 100 copies and I hadn't picked up one of these in a long time. Why this time? You never know when more might pop up.

Auction Buzz: Some scorchers over at Goldin Auctions
It's looking like it will be another historic record-breaking month over at Goldin Auctions with action on the auction block already relatively intense.
How do we know that? Well, for starters, two iconic modern cards have already topped the million-dollar mark -- with more than nine days remaining -- and a huge third card from the past appears poised to get there with bids soon (it's at a mere $900,000). We'll get to two of those after looking at the hobby heavyweight you see above -- that's a sealed three-box case of 2003-04 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection NBA cards.
That one is the home to LeBron James' biggest Rookie Card and parallels and it's the home of the same for Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony and Chris Bosh as well as monster cards from Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and other legends. "This singular release inspired a new and fervent, high-end market," the auction simply states -- and one really does have to wonder how many of these might still be in existence as every box has one patch auto, one rookie patch auto and more inside. It's a grail of its own unopened yet the highest of high-rollers just might get rewarded ... if they dared to open it. The current bidding? A cool $485,000 after 11 bids with nine days to go.

THE GOAT HAS A GAME
Tom Brady -- QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Rookie Cards in 2000 boxes)
Passing yards? Nobody had more than his 411 this week -- in fact, only two others topped 350. Five passing TDs? Nobody touched that, either, as his team stomped their in-state rivals. This week? With four passing TDs, he'll be the only player to ever throw for 600 TDs ... and there will be countless more looks at the greatness of his career. (At least there should be.) His RCs from 21 years ago are in-demand and pricey and, well, if you didn't grab ink long ago you're going to be paying top-dollar there, too. Is there a lot more room to grow? Well, that depends on those buying at the top of the market. For the rest of us, I think his Tampa Bay basics and non-hit rare stuff here and there might be the best way to dabble -- unless you don't have to worry about dollar signs.Keep reading for four more making up the list this time.
