Six-figure sales happen with vintage football greats' Rookie Cards, too

The high-dollar auctions aren't just for high-grade Mickey Mantle cards.
While "The Mick" has dominated the auction block in recent years -- and did so again last weekend via Heritage Auctions -- there were two six-figure NFL sales of note in that Heritage sale, too.
And they weren't alone as a number of graded football cards topped the $10,000 mark.

Panini America has a new take on real-time cardboard and the program was officially unveiled today with the announcement that a Peyton Manning Super Bowl 50 card coming on the heels of the teams' rematch tomorrow night.
“Just as trading cards themselves continue to evolve, so, too, do the ways in which they’re brought to market. Panini Eternal is on the cutting edge in both regards,” said Mark Warsop, Panini America CEO. “Panini Eternal is about capturing history — game-specific memorabilia from the milestone moments in sports – and sharing it directly with fans and collectors. Panini America is teasing another take on real-time cardboard via its website with a section for these cards alongside Instant.
Trevor Siemian is Denver Broncos' starter -- with just two Rookie Cards

It's not been pretty on the quarterback front for the Denver Broncos in 2016 with the exit of a legend, Peyton Manning, the exit of his long-term understudy, Brock Osweiler, and the preseason messes of Mark Sanchez.
But there is a highlight with the arrival of Trevor Siemian in the starting spot in Denver.
