Roberto Clemente & the Dodgers? Yep, and there's a baseball card ...
We all know Roberto Clemente as a legendary member of the Pittsburgh Pirates and a Hall of Famer who helped pave the way for Latin American players in MLB.However, it was today back in 1954 when he signed a contract with the Brooklyn Dodgers and became a member of the Montreal Royals -- the team where Jackie Robinson had started before he broke MLB's color barrier in 1947. The move was largely to block Clemente from being signed by the New York Giants.
Veteran collectors know there's even a baseball card showing this.
Harper Lee autographs have always been in high demand with her key place in American literature
The world lost a Pulitzer Prize-winning author on Friday as Harper Lee, the author of To Kill a Mockingbird, died at age 89.An iconic book in American literature and a staple of educational reading, the novel was the only one Lee published in her career -- until a year ago when her second, Go Set a Watchman, arrived 55 years after Mockingbird.
While the story of her book is well known, her life really isn't as she intentionally lived out of the spotlight after her literary success. Lee granted no interviews after 1964 and made very few public appearances in the past and, as a result of this, signed copies of her book are relatively rare given the potential demand. (Translation: They've always been expensive but can be found.)

Buzz List: Five other ways to collect your favorite baseball player or team beyond the world of cardboard
One of the challenges of collecting once you reach a certain level (either in years or cards) is how to keep yourself engaged in a hobby that can be full of obstacles.Cost can be an obstacle. A limited number of releases including your player or team -- or scarcity of cards within those releases that are made -- can be an obstacle. A player retiring can be an obstacle. These aren't the only ones, either.
Once you have a certain number of cards for a player or a team, though, maybe it's time to consider adding to your collection in a few simple ways that are already around you. They can be just as challenging as cards, too.
Here are a few options ...

Topps readies a Star Wars: The Force Awakens autograph for ... BB-8?
It was no surprise that one of the stars of Star Wars: The Force Awakens was the new droid in the franchise's universe. Why? Because it was seen everywhere before the movie's arrival, allowing us to marvel at the idea of a real robot -- a head atop a rolling ball -- being part of the action and not someone in a suit or something that's purely computer-generated.If you didn't know, that robot was BB-8.
However, the news from Topps this week was a surprise as it's going to have a BB-8 autographed card in 2016 Topps Star Wars: The Force Awakens Series 2 when it arrives late next month. How?
Let's revisit 1967 Topps errors for a 2016 Topps Heritage variation primer
We're less than a month away from the release of 2016 Topps Heritage baseball cards, the annual trek to the past that includes errors and variations as an added homage to the past year within the new product. In advance of the March 2 release, Buzz was wondering about which mistakes are found in the 1967 Topps set -- that's this year's throwback model -- and what might be found. We don't yet have a checklist from Topps for this year, but that will be telling. Why? Stars from the past teams will often match stars on present teams in the set if an error/correction is in play.
Here's a rundown of the mistakes found in 1967 Topps ...

Super Bowl 50 cardboard winners & losers from the Broncos & Panthers
It's pretty obvious who won and who lost after Super Bowl 50 on Sunday night without a glance at the scoreboard that read Broncos 24, Panthers 10.The storybook finish happened for one, an emergence for another. And for the losing team we saw the best and the worst possibilities -- for guys who have plenty of good and now bad potential on cardboard. Here's a rundown ...
Von Miller -- Not long ago he was a guy coming off a suspension and an ACL tear, but on Sunday night the Broncos LB became one of a handful of defensive stars named the Super Bowl MVP. He recorded six tackles, two forced fumbles and two sacks for a loss of 27 yards. His strip of Cam Newton in the fourth quarter set up the final score of the game. Miller's Rookie Cards can be found in 2011 boxes and he's undoubtedly seen an uptick in interest simply because defensive stars are often overlooked. Will it last? Probably not, but he'll always have the MVP award in the record book. It will help, though, if he remains in Denver.
