Star Wars: 10 cool cards for 10 key characters in a galaxy far, far away
Somewhere out there in a galaxy not far, far away is a list where every single character in the Star Wars universe exists. Whether they are a bit player or a background character, they seemingly all have names because of merchandising needs and they all probably have back stories to justify the action figures, trading cards and other ways those small-time wonders on the big screen can help make big bucks. We're not here to showcase bit players who had a few seconds or a few lines. We're here for 10 of the top names from the previous films as the hours melt away before the arrival of The Force Awakens on Friday.
Here are 10 cool cards for 10 key characters in the past Star Wars films.

PSA 8 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle sets new record with Heritage sale
Heritage Auctions' sale of a PSA 8 Mickey Mantle 1952 Topps card set another record for the card in its condition this week."The 1952 Topps Mantle rookie is a truly transcendent piece of Americana," said Chris Ivy, the Director of Sports Auctions at Heritage. "It looms in the collective American imagination like a copy of Action Comics #1, an inverted Jenny stamp or an Abe Lincoln autograph. You don't have to collect baseball cards to recognize it, so thoroughly is it woven into the national consciousness."
So, how much for the icon of all post-war baseball card icons?
Browns TE Gary Barnidge can't buy two things with his new contract
Gary Barnidge is in the midst of a career year with the Cleveland Browns -- and he might be the team's only weapon on offense considering the craziness that is the quarterback spot for that 2-10 disaster. The tight end is eight years into his NFL career -- he was a fifth-round pick out of Louisville in 2008 -- and has 60 catches for 817 yards and seven touchdowns this season. Before this year? Just 44 receptions for 603.
He signed a new contract with the team today, but there are two things he can't buy with that new cash.
It's officially awards season and Buzz's Oscar picks are in ...
Hollywood's awards season is here with the nominees for the SAG and Golden Globes arriving this week and the inevitable chatter about who might get an Oscar nomination on Jan. 15 heating up online.
Good luck finding yourself Oscar cardboard, though, as cards showing Hollywood's biggest honor aren't all that common at all. In fact, they're downright scarce even though countless Oscar winners themselves have appeared on cards. (At right is a 2005 Topps Chronicles card Buzz bets most of you have never seen.)Because of that, we're going with a different piece of awards cardboard above -- you all remember that one and its 2011 Topps American Pie card, right? -- as Buzz presents his picks for the top Oscars collectors need to know.
Remembering early NBA legend Dolph Schayes on cardboard

(The Basketball Association of America merged with the National Basketball League to form the NBA in 1949.)
As a 16-year-old freshman, Schayes led New York University to a Final Four appearance in 1945 and had an NBA championship by 1955. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1973 and named one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history in 1996.

The fight-used gloves above, for example? They were worn by Miesha Tate during the UFC on FOX Dillashaw vs. Barao 2 card where she downed Jessica Eye via unanimous decision. They'll cost you $2,999.99 to add them to your stash.
Gloves, shorts, fight-sponsor banners, walkout shirts, walkout caps and other gear are all available.
