George 'The Animal' Steele dies at 79 after colorful life & career

The green-tongued turnbuckle eater is gone.
George "The Animal" Steele, a veteran professional wrestler whose career ended during the 1980s peak of the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE) and was known for his appetite for mayhem has died. He was 79.
Born Jim Myers, he was a multi-sport star in high school and a football player for (and graduate of) Michigan State. He also earned a master's degree before he turned to professional wrestling in the 1960s -- all this while also working as a high school teacher and coach the entire time. (He's also a member of the state's football coaches hall of Fame.)
'Trading Cards' return on Friday with new wave of cardboard icons

The Trading Cards are back -- and this time they are in packs.
Long-time readers of The Buzz probably remember California-based illustrator Cuyler Smith whose Trading Cards bring the stars of the reel world (memorable sports movies) to real life using nods to memorable sports card designs from the past.
He's back with a new show -- and a new wave of cardboard -- arriving on Friday.
Could a feature film about family spark serious interest in Paige's WWE trading cards? Bet on it ...

The history books of professional wrestling are packed with stories about families that took part in the traveling caravan turned international spectacle -- a mere mention of names such as McMahon, Hart, Von Erich, Funk, Guerrero and so many more can mean so many names to those who know wrestling.
But there's one name -- Bevis -- that might become a household name in the future thanks to a feature film that's in the works and revealed this week from Seven Bucks Productions, which is a company helmed by Dwayne Johnson. He's a third-generation wrestling star you might know as The Rock and he's flexed plenty of muscle lately when it comes to entertainment ventures without ring ropes.
And who's Bevis? Thats Saraya-Jade Bevis, a WWE star from England who's known as Paige inside the ring and it's her story -- her family's story -- that's being developed into a movie. (Finally, we know what The Rock is cooking.)

Norman Dale autographs add some 'Hoosiers' flair to 2017 Topps Series 1

It's not baseball but it's the first surprise in packs of 2017 Topps Series 1.
What you see here is an autograph of "Norman Dale" aka Gene Hackman, who was the coach of the Hickory High School basketball team in Hoosiers.
How rare will this autograph turn out to be? It's probably one of the toughest ones, though it was on the announced checklist for those who looked closely enough to spot the name. The card has parallels and a 1/1 Birch version just like others in the set -- but those aren't on peoples' minds just yet. Why? The first copy to hit eBay already has an impressive asking price.
Hackman had never signed a certified autograph before despite appearing on plenty of Topps Superman cards from his time bringing Lex Luthor to life.
