Black Friday is nearly here & here are five preview wave deals to consider
If you hadn't noticed this month, there have been a number of boxes with discounted prices now over on the mothership as BlowoutCards.com's Black November has been rocking the hobby.
Now, though, we're prepping for Black Friday with a preview wave of what's to come.
Many of the discounts were dramatic enough that Buzz had to sit down and ponder the possibilities in many of the boxes and cases -- and here are five options that caught this collector’s eye. (Be sure to click this link to see how much these will be discounted.)
2015 Bowman Chrome baseball hobby box
The rookie auto crop isn't what a lot of Chrome buyers scout first but the list of names found in this one is impressive -- Byron Buxton, Carlos Rodon, Francisco Lindor, Joc Pederson, Kris Bryant and Noah Syndergaard. There are, of course, then the prospects and plenty of rainbow potential that the Chromies are known to collect in bulk. A lower price on these boxes should entice more than a few rippers -- and cards like this Bryant auto could be in there with two autographs in every box.Black November Wave 6 is here — and here are five deals to consider
If you hadn't noticed, there are a number of boxes with discounted prices now over on the mothership as BlowoutCards.com's Black November Wave 6 hits today.
Many of the discounts were dramatic enough that Buzz had to sit down and ponder the possibilities in many of the boxes and cases -- and here are five boxes that caught this collector’s eye.
2008 Upper Deck Goudey baseball hobby box
This one is a fun retro box to rip with its 1930s design and it's one that has some serious potential when it comes to autographs. Signers in these two-hit-per boxes include Albert Pujols, Derek Jeter, Gordie Howe, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, Nolan Ryan, Sidney Crosby, Tiger Woods, Johnny Bench, Dan Marino, Julius Erving, Ken Griffey Jr., Willie McCovey and plenty more. It will take some luck to find some of them, but they are in there along with a Clayton Kershaw Rookie Card and plenty more among the base cards and inserts.Clock ticks for BlowoutTV 50-case auction break of 2015 Bowman Draft
If you're a veteran prospector you've probably ripped into a few Bowman Draft cases through the years, but the latest big break from BlowoutTV is one that has to impress even the most-grizzled of hobby veterans.
It's a 50-case break of 2015 Bowman Draft. Yep, 50 cases. That's 600 boxes. That's 14,400 packs. That's a whole lot of potential.
The clock is winding down on the auction for this break with a deadline on ink tonight (click here for the basics) and there are a few players who should grab the attention of prospectors. Among notables here are Andrew Benintendi, Brendan Rodgers and Dansby Swanson to name a few and there are inevitably other gems to be found with color or Superfractor potential in that much wax.

This box carries a pretty hefty discount but all those key autos are still in there.Buzz Break: 2016 Topps Heritage Minor League baseball (hobby box)

Topps Heritage arrived today for the guys down on the farm but the 2016 Topps Heritage Minor League set and its autograph checklist are loaded with some big-league talent thanks to a talented crop of newcomers. And that means there are some good variations and autographs to chase.
Topps Heritage Minor League checklist includes big-leaguer ink
Topps Heritage arrived today for the big-leaguers, but it will be another week for the players down on the farm who appear on 2016 Topps Heritage Minor League cards.
But the good news is that the autograph checklist is loaded with some big-league talent thanks to a talented crop of newcomers and a set of former minor-leaguers who are now established in The Show.
Bowman Platinum's powerful return should impress with checklist alone
Big names, big ink and a smaller than normal distribution is a recipe for a hot product with longer-term potential.
Some of the names on the autographed checklist should reinforce that potential -- Alex Bregman, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Brendan Rodgers, Daz Cameron, Dansby Swanson, Ian Happ, Lucas Giolito, Willson Contreras, Yoan Moncada, Carlos Correa, Corey Seager, Julio Urias, Kris Bryant, Kenta Maeda, Mike Trout and Trevor Story. (And that's just two of the checklists in this one.)
That product is 2016 Bowman Platinum, and it's initially billed as a Walmart-only brand doing well enough that it's now also available with 20-pack boxes on hand from Blowout.

Dansby Swanson's arrival offers hope for struggling hobby-favorite Braves
The Atlanta Braves have the worst record in baseball but they'll be one of the most-watched teams when it comes to hobbyists the rest of this season thanks to a call-up that appears to have paid off pretty well on Wednesday night.
Former No. 1 overall draft pick Dansby Swanson arrived and went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles in his big-league debut. The home-state star's promotion is about more than just performance, though, as less than 10 months ago, he was a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks organization -- and now he's immediately one of the faces of a franchise aiming to rebuild. It's a franchise with plenty of hobby favorites in the past and it doesn't hurt that there's a new stadium coming next year, too.
Now, the questions come about cardboard. Will this Rookie Cards now be included in 2017 Topps Series 1 and 2017 Topps Heritage? We don't know that yet -- but we do know he's among today's Topps Now stars on a call-up card -- not once but twice.

Could strong spring mean hot cards for Braves rookie Hector Olivera?
He's already joined the Topps Authentics team as one of the top players on the radar of the company's memorabilia division, but a hot start this spring just might have him on the radar of more collectors soon.
He's Hector Olivera, and he's hit .438 (14-for-32) with just a single strikeout in 11 games this spring for the Atlanta Braves, where he's likely to be in left field on Opening Day.
"We've seen him juice some balls, but we don't know if this guy is going to be a nine-home-run guy or a 15-18 home run guy. We might not know that until later this year," said Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "He doesn’t take things for granted. There’s nobody that works harder than him. He’s here early, he works, and as coaches, that’s what you want to see and what he gives us."

Card Gallery: 2015 Bowman's Best baseball cards
Bowman's Best officially returns tomorrow for the first time in eight years and it's going to pack two autographs into each mini box, four per master, when collectors tear in.
First introduced in 1994, Bowman's Best ran for more than a decade before a year off and a return in 2007. It's been sidelined ever since. This time around, the brand replaces Bowman Sterling and offers a selection of young stars that have captivated collectors already this past season or so along with a crop of new draft picks as well. Nearly all autographs are signed on-card for this release.
