Got $5? Blowout has a box for you as two Doorbusters dropped early
You don't have to wait until Black Friday for the BlowoutCards Doorbusters to have a jaw-dropper.
There's one of those dropping today -- in fact, it's available right now -- as you can land a box of 2014 Topps Turkey Red football cards for less than $5. (No, really, go look. We'll wait.)
As we've documented here before on The Buzz, every box of this one includes a rookie autograph -- and there are some rarer autos that are tough pulls guaranteed to fetch more than $5. Atop that, there are a number of variations that are also tough pulls. Check out the link for all the past details.
It's not the only early Doorbuster, either.
Bargain Buzz: Scouting the Blowout Black Friday Doorbusters
Buzz is a collector who has to be selective -- can't collect everything but would probably want to -- so that's why a day like Black Friday is important.
It's a time for me to try stuff I normally wouldn't -- or try something I've always eyed but never done simply because the price is right.
Blowout's Black Friday Doorbusters have been revealed and there are some serious bargains to be found along with the previous waves of Black November discounts on other brands beyond these. Keep your eyes on this forum link to get the latest of what's been unleashed on Friday -- and what's back in stock, too.
Keep reading for my picks on the deals that would get my attention first once those Friday prices kick in -- and then check out the full list here to see the prices.

BlowoutCards.com Beach Boys sale offers good vibrations for collectors
Wouldn't it be nice to own autographs from members of an iconic American band?
That's a lot easier than you might think for The Beach Boys -- in fact it can be guaranteed -- thanks to BlowoutCards.com's newest Black November sale wave. It's a prelude of sorts for what's to come with Black Friday next week, but for fans of this band there's no beating this one.
It's the Pet Sounds of sales. It's fun, fun, fun ... and more.
As part of the sale, boxes and cases of Panini America's 2013 Beach Boys card set should give you some good vibrations after you do some simple math. You typically get two autographs per 20-box case with five possible signers -- Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston or David Marks. Each of them signed an equal total of 350 cards. The Wilson card you see here? It went for $270 on eBay -- and it's not alone as a strong seller.
Now, how much are those cases or boxes? (That's not a typo.) And the original prices on these boxes was originally $72, meaning those cases were originally $1,435 a pop.
Now pick up your jaw and keep reading to learn more about what's in this one.

Black November Wave 8 is here ... and here are five deals to consider

Wave 8 is here -- and it's a huge "mega wave" of more than 170 products -- and many of the discounts were dramatic enough that Buzz had to sit down and ponder the possibilities in many of the boxes and cases -- and here are five boxes/cases that caught this collector’s eye.
2011 Wheels Element hobby boxes (and cases)
Chase Elliott is an established young star in NASCAR these days but back when this one arrived he was one of the "Undiscovered Elements" newcomers who got the nod for their first card appearances and first autographs. Elliott, the son of Hall of Famer and former Cup champ Bill, was just 15 at the time. He signed two cards in this release -- a standard limited to 225 copies and a red-ink version limited to 25. Atop this, he didn't have any other ink until 2014 when he arrived with a hot start that included a pair of NASCAR victories before he had even graduated from high school. At that time, his autos were easy $100 bills and people paid as much as $500 for the Red. They've settled down now -- and he's got plenty of ink since -- but these are still the first and among the most-unique cards he'll ever have. (There's a Rookie Card in the standard set, too.) There are plenty of other highlights here but this one's the closest thing to awesome ... at least that's what some guy named Bill from Dawsonville said.Keep reading for more from this weekend's big wave.

2013-14 Panini Prestige NBA wax boxes and cases
This isn't a high-end brand but it's one that packs two autographs and two memorabilia cards in every box with roughly 20 insert cards, too. The key here? Giannis. His autographs are in here. His Rookie Cards are in here. He's such a big deal, he doesn't even need his long last name mentioned here. (Yes, I can spell it ... Antetokounmpo.) If you land his auto, it can pay for at least a third, if not half of the case. This is a brand where you can also land the likes of Kevin Durant and Kobe Bryant ink (among others) and there's plenty of stuff in there -- especially if you go with a volume buy with the low sale price.Buzz 12 in 12: Busting a 2017 Panini Absolute Racing blaster box (Hour 8)

Red Sox lose a legend as Hall of Famer Bobby Doerr dies at age 99
Ted Williams called him the "Silent Captain" of the Red Sox and he's a Hall of Famer, too, with 14 seasons in the major leagues, all for Boston.
He's Bobby Doerr and he died Monday at age 99.
Doerr was a nine-time All-Star who hit .288 with 2,042 hits, 223 home runs and 1,247 RBI in 1,865 games for Boston from 1937 to 1951 save for the 1945 season where, like Williams, he was in the military.
“Bobby Doerr was part of an era of baseball giants and still stood out as one himself,” Red Sox owner John Henry said in a statement. “And even with his Hall of Fame achievements at second base, his character and personality outshined it all. He will be missed.”

2016-17 Panini Threads NBA hobby boxes & cases
Threads is a simple formula but it's a comfortable one with two hits per box -- one autograph and one memorabilia card -- and a feel that's more deluxe than, say, NBA Hoops but still with some of the basics that give it a good collectable feel. (Check out this past break.) You can land ink from the likes of Kobe Bryant and Carmelo Anthony here along with ink from the rookies, too. The memorabilia cards can include Hall of Famers, too, like that past break does, helping offer some extra scope for a price that's now pretty low. It's worth a rip for sure and it leads off this round of picks from this collector.Keep reading to see more picks from this wave.
Adrian Clayborn's six-sack game could spark interest in past cards -- and his lone (sort of) Falcons auto
Want to collect someone who's very affordable and relatively solid on the field?
Atlanta Falcons defensive lineman Adrian Clayborn made a case for himself on Sunday night against the Dallas Cowboys when he did something that's only been equaled or topped by three other players since 1982 when the sack became an official NFL stat. He had six sacks of Dak Prescott -- just one short of the NFL record -- and he wasn't boisterous about the big game afterward.
“I only have one move and it worked,” Clayborn told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "I play the same way every game and it lucked out for me today."
