If this was your only way to own the iconic 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle baseball card, would you buy it?
Buzz did something today that he hadn't done often in years of collecting -- out of curiosity, he searched "1952 Topps Mickey Mantle" on eBay.
Surprisingly (though maybe not given auction prices these days) there were nearly 20 graded copies of the iconic card to be had. On the high-end was a PSA 8 OC copy of the card with a hefty price tag and a PSA 7 copy as well. Not bad price-wise, there.
Buzz flipped over to completed auctions out of curiosity and found nearly 30 more completed sales for slabbed copies of the card before finding the gem you see above.
High-grade Hank Aaron 1954 Topps Rookie powers big Mile High sale
A near-perfect PSA 9 Hank Aaron 1954 Topps Rookie Card led the way in the Mile High Card Company auction that ended during the weekend -- and it was just one of 10 lots that topped the $20,000 mark.
All were graded vintage cards in high grades or key specimens slabbed by PSA or SGC -- meanwhile 13 other auctions topped the $10,000 plateau in the sale.
Click the first image below to enter our gallery and get a closer look at the top 10 lots as well their final sale prices. We added an extra one so you can see a surprising sale price on the only PSA 10 Joe Torre 1962 Topps Rookie Card in existence.

Mickey Mantle cards sell for more than $750,000 via Memory Lane Inc.
Demand for The Mick continues to be an all-time high.
A run of high-grade Mickey Mantle Topps and Bowman baseball cards from 1951 to 1969 sold for more than $750,000 this weekend in a Memory Lane Inc. auction.
"The Empire State Collection" consisted of 21 PSA-graded cards and, according to the company, 14 of them set new record-highs for their condition.
PSA adds autograph grading to slabbing & authentication options
Collectors who submit certified autograph cards to PSA in the future will notice something extra noted on their slabs now if they opt for an added feature from the grading and authentication company.
It's a grade noting the quality of the autograph.
"PSA has long been in a unique position since we offer the top certification brands in both PSA trading card grading and PSA/DNA autograph authentication," said PSA President Joe Orlando. "For years, we have provided card and autograph grading services in separate fashion, but now those services can be provided in one complete package."
The times have really changed for Tiger Woods and golf cards
There was a time when Tiger Woods owned the course and owned the hobby. His successes helped relaunch golf cards into the mainstream for the first time in years, and his 2001 Upper Deck Rookie Card was the most-graded card of any kind in the history of Beckett Grading Services. More copies of that one were slabbed than even the iconic baseball cards of players who broke single-season home run records. More copies of that were graded than even Ken Griffey Jr.'s Star Rookie card from 1989 Upper Deck, which is arguably the 1952 Mantle of today for many collectors. More copies of that were graded than anything Bowman or anything else.
Now is not that time.
Even when it's not Star Wars, collecting movie memorabilia can still be complicated & challenging
With so many notable films set to arrive between now and the end of the year, it's easy to miss things when it comes to the varied -- and largely un-checklisted -- world of movie memorabilia.
After all, a single movie can have countless advance posters teasing the forthcoming film released months or even years in advance. Then, upon arrival, there can be all kinds of promotional materials -- posters, in-theater giveaways, in-store promotions and merchandise to chase. You know, the playbook started by Star Wars.
