Check out the prices of unopened boxes from just two years ago in the gallery -- it should surprise you.
Do know what today is?
It was supposed to be the opening day of the National Sports Collectors Convention in Atlantic City, N.J., but with the life-changing coronavirus pandemic still in play across the country the show of all shows has been tentatively rescheduled for December. (And, realistically, that's likely in doubt.)
What might you have found on the show floor? Well, you can find stuff you might not even know exists -- or can even imagine -- and in the case of this throwback gallery of views from just two years ago you might wish you had a time machine.
eBay Buzz: Unreal Zion Williamson lot sells soon, Tom Brady's rare Bucs debut, Anthony Fauci, Kate Beckinsale & hot MLB

Have you seen the latest cool or interesting items on eBay? If not, you just might see some of those here every week as we're launching a weekly version of our eBay Buzz pieces that pop up from time to time. We’ll spotlight some items that have a story or just wow us with how much interest it might have — and we’re not just talking baseball cards, either.

PICK UP YOUR JAW ... IT'S OVER THERE ??
The Item: Zion Williamson 2019-20 Panini Prizm NBA lot of 23 cards ... all BGS 10s
The Price: $54,900 after 89 bids (one day remaining)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This one is an interesting lot ... first in the sheer volume and the quality. Then you wonder ... why might they be cashing out? (Or, is this just their "junky" copies, meaning they held all of their parallels and autos?) The timing here is interesting -- I'd think just as Williamson or the NBA returns might be a better time for this one, though there are a lot of different options for his Rookie Cards out there. This one will inevitably still be one of the most-iconic ones from this crazy year ... so this price should move before it ends and I'd suspect that the lot will get broken up over time. (Right?) Or, perhaps the buyer will just sit on it and flip it again later? Oh, and if you're wondering, just 517 copies of this card have checked in at a 10 and only 25 have topped them out of 9,199 graded by BGS so far this year.

Fast Five: Players to consider stockpiling right now ...

This one is a new department here on The Buzz ... Fast Five -- a quick list under a simple topic that might offer a basic starting point for a themed collection. It's a basic list of five items that could be fun for a starting collector or a new way to add to a stash that might already seemingly include everything when it comes to cardboard. For some of you, it's probably common sense. For others of you out there, it's perhaps something to ponder.
This time? Five players to stockpile right now.
LEGENDARY LULL? MAYBE FOR SOME STUFF ...
Once Tom Brady's new-team cardboard arrives there will be some heat there but for long-term stockpiling, I'd be looking at other things for this Hall of Fame lock and all-time great. His Rookie Cards from 2000 boxes are stupid expensive so stockpiling those ain't easy even if you have a Centurion black card -- there's just not an infinite amount to be found. But there are other types of cards that you should be able to find far cheaper and can sit on for the future. Don't think there's heat here on non-rookie, non-auto stuff? Click here. I'm not even recommending loading up there. Brady game-used jersey cards might be first on my list -- none of his gamers will be cheap to find at this point for card companies -- though they aren't super-cheap either. (I perhaps own one pulled long ago.) But you should also consider standard flagship types of cards and parallels -- basic Topps, Score, Playoff, Panini staples -- with an eye on grading. Prices on basic Brady cardboard out there is often far cheaper than, say, LeBron James, Ken Griffey Jr. or Kobe Bryant with plenty of options. And he's a lock as being his sport's all-time best -- and keep in mind that some Patriots stuff might have lulls with the move to Tampa Bay ... perhaps moreso if the season is delayed or shortened.Keep reading for four more making up the list this time.

First Tom Brady Tampa Bay Bucs football card drops on July 15

One of these things is not like the others ...
That's not Sesame Street, it's a cardboard reality as Panini America revealed the first Tom Brady Tampa Bay Buccaneers football card that will appear in packs.
The debut card announced today will be found in packs of 2020 Panini Luminance NFL, which is set to arrive on July 15 with three autographs, one memorabilia card and more in every box.
Auction Buzz: Some last-day steals brewing at Crazy Uncle?

Today's the last day of auction action over at Crazy Uncle Auctions and since that might not be on your natural list of places to check for modern cardboard, well ... that's why Buzz is here.
The Harrison, N.Y.-based auction house has an impressive array of stuff -- from elite oldschool pieces that you wouldn't imagine existing to stuff fresh from the card factories of today.
POLAR BEAR POWER
The Item: Pete Alonso 2019 Topps NOW #705A Autographed Relic (/99)
The Price: $80 after five bids (about 10 hours remaining)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This is one of 15 Alonso cards up for grabs in this one and it's at a fraction of the previous eBay prices (for now) with some solid flip potential even if bidding picks up from here. (It should but could still be a good buy.) eBay asking prices are at least $100 higher and actual sales of comparable Relics (not this one but others from Topps Now) are $250 and up. The key here might be timing -- with MLB set to return there could be more attention here very soon for this big-market slugger. Either way, it's an iconic card noting a key part of his career so far and not a generic aut0-Relic card.Keep reading for a deeper look at four more items ending tonight that caught Buzz's attention for this weekend edition of Auction Buzz -- the action closes at 11 p.m Eastern here.

This one is a quick idea for a new department here on The Buzz ... Fast Five -- a quick list under a simple topic that might offer a basic starting point for a themed collection. It's a basic list of five items that could be fun for a starting collector or a new way to add to a stash that might already seemingly include everything when it comes to cardboard. For some of you, it's probably common sense. For others of you out there, it's something to think about.
This time? Five things I'll be exploring in 2020 Score NFL.ALTERNATE TEAMS
The Cards: Jalen Hurts in Alabama colors
This year's version of Score includes some players who played for more than one notable team in their college careers and that's something that you don't see all that often for college cardboard -- typically it's tied to their final team. No. 1 pick Joe Burrow can be found on both Ohio State and LSU cardboard, while No. 53 pick Jalen Hurts can be found with both Alabama and Oklahoma cards. These all have ink and parallels making the chase of something a little easier than some single-card SP variation but also more challenging if you want to do a comprehensive player rainbow. This one will be something I look for in my collecting experience with this new NFL release, which is out now for hobby boxes and should be arriving out at retail everywhere else any time now. (Hit that link up top for hobby boxes, which include a boatload of everything.)Keep reading for four more making up the list this time.
