Bo Bichette
eBay Buzz: LeBron James rarity, Bo Bichette, Chris Godwin's best 'graph and Juan Soto & Ronald Acuña Jr. share the wealth

Have you seen the latest cool or interesting items on eBay? If not, you just might see some of those here every week as we're launching a weekly version of our eBay Buzz pieces that pop up from time to time. We’ll spotlight some items that have a story or just wow us with how much interest it might have — and we’re not just talking baseball cards, either.

RARE SIMPLICITY
The Item: LeBron James 2019-20 Panini Contenders Optic Uniformity Gold (/10)
The Price: $2,938 after 28 bids (ends tonight)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This isn't the flashiest card and there's no autograph or memorabilia here, but it's an A-lister on a color that's perhaps perfect for his team with good timing (NBA Finals) and some super scarcity from a brand that's getting plenty of attention. It's also a perfect example of how the NBA market can be these days ... a little nutty, maybe a little unbelievable but the market is for real. (And people are buying the boxes and other notable cards across the board to prove it.) Will this one jump up even more before it ends? Probably, but you never know -- I've been known to put curses on cards showing them here, too.

A NEW RETAIL INCLUSION ...
The Set: Widevision retail blaster box-topper cards
The Price: Will vary by player.
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: Something new this year are these over-sized Widevison cards only found in blaster boxes. There are 25 cards on its checklist and, while I have not yet seen them in hand, they appear to be tallboy sized (or close to it) with a slightly different proportion that might give us some good crops on cards we don't always see. These drop one per box and should figure to be plentiful ... as long as people are ripping and not sitting on them to flip. (Sorry, shelf-clearers, beyond some rare and rookie autos here, this one is more of a traditional release than a clean-it-out and reap the resale rewards ... the odds just are not that easy.) These are a great touch, though, and if you're buying by the (40-box!) blaster case you should ideally come up just short of a couple sets if the collation is good. Unlike Archives' toppers, there do not appear to be autographed versions here based on the checklist linked above.Keep reading for five more interesting items in this week's roundup ...

What's Buzzing Today: Bo Bichette is on fire, The National is canceled, big pulls and more in today's edition.
Buzz Buys: Anthony Fauci's Rookie Card, big Bo Bichette, Kobe, Sasha Banks, AEW's start & Mark Wahlberg's new NFL card?

Buzz buys and busts a lot of boxes right here for Buzz Breaks, but one of my goals is to rip a little less and talk more about cardboard that I -- and you -- might like. One way to do that? Simple show and tell -- present a few pick-ups and say why they captured my attention.
So, with all that said, here are a few Buzz Buys ... and this time around there's some new stuff and some throwbacks as I await some new arrivals.

IN THE HOUSE (BUT NOT IN THE STRIKE ZONE)
The Card: Dr. Anthony Fauci 2020 Topps Now (/51,512)
The Price: $6 (direct from Topps)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This card was a fun surprise after his awful first pitch to start the season on Opening Day last month and it set an all-time record for Topps Now with more than 51,000 copies sold. That's more than double the previous record for Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s MLB debut last year. Why? The novelty of it and the market has been strong for this card as many non-collectors apparently want one. That price has made me glad I did a handful. I may or may not slab one as I had planned as these didn't come in as razor-sharp/perfectly clean as other Topps Now cards I've done. (And also because grading prices are getting steeper.) The real question for people out there ... did anybody get a parallel? Those are new for Now this year.

What's Buzzing Today: Bo Bichette, Bol Bol, wrestling Mount Rushmores, new breaks, inside an NBA stash and is the MLB season already in jeopardy?
Fast Five: Overlooked things collectors should consider

This one is a new department here on The Buzz ... Fast Five -- a quick list under a simple topic that might offer a basic starting point for a themed collection. It's a basic list of five items that could be fun for a starting collector or a new way to add to a stash that might already seemingly include everything when it comes to cardboard. For some of you, it's probably common sense. For others of you out there, it's perhaps something to ponder.
This time? Five perhaps overlooked things baseball card collectors should consider.
USA BASEBALL
Nearly every year, nearly every draft pick already has appeared on a baseball card thanks to the USA Baseball deal with Panini today and a few other companies in the past. If you want an autograph, memorabilia card or just basic baseball card (or two, or three) for this year's No. 1 draft pick, Spencer Torkelson, all you have to do is rip into some USA Baseball packs. He's already got almost 200 different card appearances there -- nearly half of those autographs -- thanks to these releases and other prospect All-Star showcase products. The same can be said for a lot of notables from the last decade-plus and they won't cost you nearly as much as popular-brand MLB prospect debut cards or MLB Rookie Cards. Isn't the big appeal of first prospect cards or Rookie Cards their being early? USA Baseball can trump them all with players in their teen years having cards years before college or pro stardom. Torkelson, for example, has had cards since 2016 and had his first USA stuff in 2018 (Elite Extra Editon). He can be found in the last two Stars & Stripes releases, too. These cards are also easy enough to find to rip in bulk and stockpile/slab.Keep reading for four more making up the list this time.
