MLB All-Star Game and Home Run Derby get Topps Now sets
As the clock counts down to the MLB All-Star break, the countdown clock ticks for a number of Topps Now All-Star offerings, too.
They come with and without autographs on the set side and they come with a bonus offer for the set for those in the MLB All-Star Home Run Derby -- and they're all available now for a limited time initially only via Topps.com.
There are eight set options for the MLB All-Star Game's participants alone with a nine-card American League set, an eight-card National League set, a 25-card NL reserves set and a 24-card AL reserves set. The starters are $29.99 a pop, while the reserves are $59.99. There are autographed versions of all sets (one auto per set) with prices from $99.99 to $199.99 due to the rosters of guaranteed signers seeded into them.

"Bullpen car."
That's just one of the surprises in the 2018 edition of the retro-styled brand that's been revived since 2006 with 1880s stylings that include not only baseball stars but "World's Champions" in other sports and beyond.
Albert Pujols should join MLB's 3,000-hit club this week -- and we may not see a hitting machine like him ever again
We've all known Albert Pujols to be a big deal on baseball cards for most of this century and that his 2001 Bowman Chrome rookie autograph is an iconic card that can only be owned by some.
But now that he's on the cusp of joining the 3,000-Hit Club -- he's just four hits away -- we get another moment to examine his place in MLB history.
While that club is exclusive, he's among an even more elite group once that happens -- and it's a club so elite we may never see it again.

— Atlanta Braves (@Braves) April 29, 2016
The Atlanta Braves may need some rescuing by the end of this season, but at least there will be one promotional game on the calendar that can take some of the sting away from a bad season.
On May 28, the first 20,000 fans into the park will receive a "Chipper rescues Freddie" ATV bobblehead re-creating a moment from the January 2014 winter storm that left countless people stranded around Atlanta. One of those stranded was first baseman Freddie Freeman, who was rescued by past Brave and future Hall of Famer Chipper Jones.
It was a tale seen by many on Twitter and one apparently memorable and odd enough to get fans back to the park.
