LOADED WITH ROOKIES
The Cards: Eloy Jimenez, Keston Hiura, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Pete Alonso & Fernando Tatis Jr. Rookie Cards (and more)
The Prices: Will vary by player
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This year's revisiting of 1970 Topps was admittedly dry on the RC front but this series more than makes up for it and it takes that A+ grade I gave last year's edition with its rookies and gives it a nudge. This one is just as loaded and just as strong. There are more than 40 RCs on the standard checklist of just 200 cards for this one and then there are a few more (not the big names) among the 25 short-prints. The key names will be found often here and that's a recipe for strong breaks and plenty of heat if you're ripping at the case level. Heritage RCs and their autos have been some of the biggest movers (especially when slabbed) the last few years and this one will be just as strong. Now consider you'll also get parallels and variations (noted on checklist) ... oh, boy.Keep reading for five more interesting items in this week's roundup ...

This week's release: 2019 Topps Stadium Club baseball cards--
A BIG CHALLENGE
The Set: 2019 Topps Stadium Club jumbo box-topper set
The Price: Moderately challenging
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: A new inclusion this year are box-topper cards and the challenge is that there are 50 of them -- one per box. Do the math and you'll need somebody ripping into four cases to land them all, assuming clean collation. Why do I like these? The larger size (roughly 4-by-6) give you a little better look at some cards that just don't read as well at standard size. One example? The Jackie Robinson you see here -- note the details with the dugout, the faces in the crowd and more -- and then think about how getting an autograph might have been different back then, especially with this being from Robinson's first day at spring training with the team on March 6, 1948, according to Getty Images. With 50 jumbo cards in the set and a lot of classic images -- and it not being an impossible project -- this could be popular. While the prices should drop over time, they may not always be immediately available, so I'd recommend picking off what you think are the best ones early.Keep reading for five more interesting items in this week's roundup ...

A CONTINUING LEGACY
The Card: The San Diego Chicken (aka Ted Giannoulas) 2019 Donruss autographed memorabilia card (/85)
The Price: $99.99 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This fine feathered friend of baseball has had a place in Donruss packs since the early 1980s and this new set includes the latest in fowl ballcards. This particular six-piece looks to include a couple wings, a thigh and three jersey swatches plus the autograph from the man behind the beak, who has been signing meticulously for years despite having one of the longest names in cardboard history. I grabbed one of his memorabilia cards in recent years but these are always worth a look.Keep reading for five more interesting items in this week's roundup ...

A CAREER IN A CARD ...
The Item: Ichiro Suzuki 2017 Topps Triple Threads Jumbo Patch Combo Relic booklet (1/1)
The Price: $29,999 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: First and most importantly I don't think that price is ever going to be hit, but we'll lead off with some powerful window-shopping as the legendary MLB career of Ichiro Suzuki has come to an end. This piece shows him with the only three MLB teams he ever played for and it includes some impressive jumbo patches, too. This is the kind of magic that has been somewhat commonplace -- yet still not easily pulled -- in boxes of Triple Threads since it arrived back in 2006.

THE ROOKIE ARRIVES
The Card: Yusei Kikuchi 2019 Topps Opening Day #55 Rookie Card
The Price: Should be affordable ... but could surprise early on
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: Take a quick glance at the basic checklist and it should be apparent that this one might be the front-runner upon arrival. He's set to be the starter for the second game of the Mariners' series against the Oakland A's in Tokyo. The 27-year-old is 2-1 with a 4.00 ERA and six strikeouts in nine innings this spring.
