New Topps Now MLB cards drop with Road to Opening Day team sets
The time is now.
The 2018 Topps Now Road to Opening Day team sets have arrived on Topps.com and that means we'll see checklists fill out in real time as the highlights arrive during spring training.
The first set to show a card so far? The Los Angeles Angels and the first spring card for Shohei Ohtani -- and there is an autographed team set option once again this season, too.
Houston Astros' World Series game-used memorabilia still commanding big money via MLB Auctions
It's been more than a month since the Houston Astros won the World Series but the action is still relatively intense over on MLB Auctions.
Or at least some of the bidding and instant-purchase prices look that way.
Dugout lineup cards for Games 5-7 are up for auction at the moment via the site and end in three days. Game 7 leads the way at $911 after 18 bids, while Game 5 is $810 after 14 bids and Game 6 sits at $520 after just two.
Those have nothing on some of the other game-used items, though.
Black November Wave 5 is here ... and here are five deals to consider
If you hadn't noticed, there are a number of boxes with discounted prices right now over on the mothership as BlowoutCards.com is in the midst its Black November sales now.
Wave 5 is here and many of the discounts were dramatic enough that Buzz had to sit down and ponder the possibilities in many of the boxes and cases -- and here are five boxes/cases that caught this collector’s eye. (And this wave was so big that there could easily be five more ... check it out.)
2016 Panini Absolute Football retail Premium Box
At this sale price, this one is definitely worth checking out since last year's rookie crop is stacked and this one includes two exclusive hits -- one blue auto and one blue memorabilia card -- in every box. This one is a simple retail take on a memorabilia-focused favorite of mine and there could be even more retail-only colors found in boxes, too. If those are big names such as Dak Prescott or Ezekiel Elliott -- or any of the other newcomers that are making a mark -- you're way ahead with this price. Either way, it's a fun rip -- and you can grab it by the case, too.Keep reading for a few more picks among this newest wave.

Black Friday is nearly here & here are five preview wave deals to consider
If you hadn't noticed this month, there have been a number of boxes with discounted prices now over on the mothership as BlowoutCards.com's Black November has been rocking the hobby.
Now, though, we're prepping for Black Friday with a preview wave of what's to come.
Many of the discounts were dramatic enough that Buzz had to sit down and ponder the possibilities in many of the boxes and cases -- and here are five options that caught this collector’s eye. (Be sure to click this link to see how much these will be discounted.)
2015 Bowman Chrome baseball hobby box
The rookie auto crop isn't what a lot of Chrome buyers scout first but the list of names found in this one is impressive -- Byron Buxton, Carlos Rodon, Francisco Lindor, Joc Pederson, Kris Bryant and Noah Syndergaard. There are, of course, then the prospects and plenty of rainbow potential that the Chromies are known to collect in bulk. A lower price on these boxes should entice more than a few rippers -- and cards like this Bryant auto could be in there with two autographs in every box.Black November Wave 8 is here — and here are five deals to consider

2015 Panini Prizm baseball hobby box
You won't find as many packs in these boxes, but you'll find two autographs and more than one parallel or insert card in nearly every single pack. The Prizm rainbow here is as strong as it gets and there are plenty of big names to be found among a young crop of signers and a number of big past names -- Kris Bryant, Aaron Judge, Luis Severino, Corey Seager, Addison Russell, Joc Pederson, Steven Moya, David Price, Will Clark, Jose Canseco and plenty more. It's not as cheap as it used to be as these boxes have heated up some but they'll remain a fun option to rip as long as they are still around.

Topps' retail Mega Boxes are home to mega-bargains if you discover the right players & parallels
If you've done some cardboard hunting at the retail aisle, you may have passed right by the home of some of the hottest baseball cards available in stores like Target.
The card above? It's a 2015 Topps Chrome Update Black Refractor of reigning National League Rookie of the Year Kris Bryant and it was only found in a 2015 Topps Update Mega Box -- a retail box with five Update packs and two exclusive Chrome Update packs inside.
It's serial-numbered to 99 copies and sold for $100 on eBay. Because there are only two Chrome packs per box, these have been selling quite well because key guys aren't simple every-box pulls even for their base cards. (You can find boxes and cases at Blowout right here, though.)
Topps updates Fire wall art to include stars & notable rookies
The season's not yet over, but Topps has already updated one release that captured the attention of some collectors this year.
A second wave of prints for the 2015 Topps Fire print line, which features art by Tyson Beck, is in the works and already for sale on Topps.com with standard prints starting at $29.99 and rarer Gold prints starting at $99.99.
