Cortez Kennedy's Hall of Fame career included very few autographs
Cortez Kennedy was a mainstay for the Seattle Seahawks for 11 seasons, starting 153 of 167 games every year beginning in 1990.
Along the way, Kennedy signed just two certified autograph cards for a trading card company and did just one more signing after he was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2012.
The 48-year-old died on Tuesday, according to the Orlando Police Department.
Roger Moore's James Bond legacy spawned modest amount of ink
Bond, James Bond is gone.
Roger Moore who played Britain's iconic spy in seven 007 films died Tuesday after a "short but brave battle with cancer," according to his family. He was 89. Moore had a lengthy film career and took on the Bond role in 1973's Live and Let Die. He continued in the spot until 1985 and was the longest-running actor of the six who have played the character.
“Being eternally known as Bond has no downside,” Moore told The Guardian. “People often call me ‘Mr Bond’ when we’re out and I don’t mind a bit. Why would I?”
And it's because of that role that collectors have a number of certified autographs of him to chase today.

Gleyber Torres autos are tougher finds than other young Yankees
Your next big-name New York Yankees rookie to arrive in The Big Apple will face big expectations -- but he doesn't have nearly as much cardboard as those who arrived before him.
Unlike the arrivals of Gary Sanchez and Aaron Judge -- guys who had plenty of baseball cards and plenty of certified autographs when they hit The Show -- shortstop Gleyber Torres doesn't.
And that could bode very well for collectors who own them.

Fast Break NBA repacks seem to deliver well -- even for this collector
If you're a bargain hunter who's awaiting some new NBA cards to arrive but needs something right now and on the cheap, there's one option out on the retail front that's delivering pretty well for some collectors.
These Fast Break NBA repacks include three hobby packs for around $12 depending on the chain and they typically include one of each of the packs shown on the box -- all prime places to find some Giannis Antetokounmpo Rookie Cards and autographs. And it's been done, according to users over on the Blowout NBA breaks section of the forum.
Here's one example that did OK on that front. Here's one that did much, much better.
And here's another. And another one. And a bulk buyer's results.
But this is the 12-box bust that first got my attention with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar ink in the mix.
Out of sheer curiosity, this collector has bought two -- at two different times and two different chains -- and each has delivered an autograph. Keep reading to see the notable cards from the latest one.
NFLPA finalizes list of players at this year's Rookie Premiere
This year's NFLPA Rookie Premiere kicks off on Thursday with signings, photo sessions and more all planned to help you get NFL cards of the league's newest stars in their new uniforms as soon as possible.
Besides the NFL's exclusive card-maker, Panini America, the 40 players at the event also will work with other companies and sponsors -- a roster that includes Fanatics, Fanatics Authentic, Nike, EA SPORTS, Pepsi and New Era among others -- during the event that will run into the weekend.
"This is a tremendous opportunity for our players and partners to interact in an intimate setting," said Ahmad Nassar, the president of NFL Players Inc. "For 23 years, NFLPA Rookie Premiere has been the foundation of players learning about the business and benefits of their union, as they begin their journey into the league. Putting their personalities and passions on display in front of the right brands, allows their stories to spread to a wider audience, while reinforcing what the NFLPA is about – benefitting the players."
Most-important to collectors here? The NFLPA released the formal list of players expected to be at the event.

Elite Extra Edition boxes can pay off for bargain hunters & auto chasers
To say that the baseball card landscape has changed in the last decade might be an understatement, but there's been one prospecting brand that has delivered many of the biggest names early and often and delivered a good amount of ink, too, thanks to Hot Boxes.
It's packed a number of surprise inclusions, a tremendous rainbow of serial-numbered parallel autos and even some pretty good bargains as many collectors have their established habits elsewhere. In recent years, it's also given us a teaser of younger USA Baseball players, too.
This mainstay -- and arguably a simultaneous sleeper -- is Elite Extra Edition.

Ever wonder how a half-case of blaster boxes breaks down? Let's look at 2011 Panini Americana ...
Blaster boxes are the taste-testing location -- the sample platter you might say -- of many products for many people who may not have a hobby shop or want to try something new without spending too much.
After a few years, some of those boxes get dirt cheap as collectors' attentions are focused elsewhere and it's fun to dig in with those boxes become available at a fraction of their original cost.
One such product for this collector is 2011 Panini Americana, a non-sports release that's somewhat higher-end and hit-driven at hobby -- one hit per pack, just four packs per box -- while the blasters typically include a hit of some type and typically more base cards than a hobby box inside.
