USA Baseball & Panini America extend exclusive licensing deal

The Stars and Stripes are staying put.
USA Baseball's baseball card licensing deal with Panini America will continue as the two entities announced on Wednesday a long-term extension of its agreement that began back in 2012.
As a new part of the deal, Panini logos will be incorporated into the USA team's on-field uniforms while also continuing to appear on its USA baseball cards.
“Over the past five years Panini America has done an unprecedented job fostering the USA Baseball brand in the trading card category,” said David Perkins, the organization's chief operating officer. “We are thrilled to extend our partnership and we are excited to work with them on new programs leading our pastime’s future to new heights.”

Black November Wave 7 is here — and here are five deals to consider

If you hadn't noticed, there are a number of boxes with discounted prices now over on the mothership as BlowoutCards.com's Black November Wave 7 hits today.
Many of the discounts were dramatic enough that Buzz had to sit down and ponder the possibilities in many of the boxes and cases -- and here are five boxes that caught this collector’s eye.
2013 Panini Prizm Perennial Draft Picks baseball hobby box
Every box of this one includes four autographs, three inserts and six Prizm parallels -- that's not a lot and Panini America added more in subsequent Prizm releases but there are a couple of names that make this box notable at its reduced price. They are Kris Bryant and Mookie Betts and both of those MVP candidates can be found within the Prizm rainbow of autographs here. Others of note within these packs? Carlos Correa, Joc Pederson, Clint Frazier, Byron Buxton, Clint Frazier, Maikel Franco, Jose Abreu and Aaron Judge. The right rare shade here could be easy profits based on the box prices.
David Ross just might be toughest Cubs autograph to land this year

David Ross' final Game at Wrigley Field came with a serenade from Eddie Vedder on Sunday night, and as he marches toward retirement there's one thing for sure about the Chicago Cubs' 39-year-old catcher.
He's easily among the toughest autographs on the team when it comes to certified cardboard. That's something worth noting as his career comes to an end -- and potentially in the biggest way possible with a World Series win for the historically downtrodden team.
"I've had a storybook year, honestly. There are so many things I can talk about that have happened to me over this year," Ross told The Associated Press. "Everybody was looking at me like, dude, Eddie Vedder just dedicated the whole seventh-inning stretch to you and I'm like, my mind's blown. I'm thinking about being out of the game and he's a quality individual. He's just a good person, rock star, everybody knows who Eddie Vedder is. He says my name -- it's a huge compliment."

2010 USA National Teams (2009 Team) Baseball Box Set
There have been plenty of USA Baseball products in the last decade and this one is the one that went a bit high-end. Why? The talent. Among the autographs you can find here are Bryce Harper, Manny Machado, Francisco Lindor, Trevor Bauer, Sonny Gray, Kolten Wong, Jameson Taillon and Albert Almora. This box carries a pretty hefty discount but all those key autos are still in there.First Buzz: 2016 Elite Extra Edition baseball cards

The Class of 2010 when it comes to Bowman baseball cards continues to be a deep one as new stars emerge atop the top arrivals of the past.Back then it was Stephen Strasburg all day long -- well, at least until his injury -- and since then names like Aroldis Chapman, Max Kepler, Miguel Sano, Shelby Miller and now Gary Sanchez have emerged.
All of those autos and more can be found inside cases of 2010 Bowman Chrome baseball cards and it's one of a few cases that can be found as part of a weekend flash sale over on the mothership.

Dansby Swanson's arrival offers hope for struggling hobby-favorite Braves

The Atlanta Braves have the worst record in baseball but they'll be one of the most-watched teams when it comes to hobbyists the rest of this season thanks to a call-up that appears to have paid off pretty well on Wednesday night.
Former No. 1 overall draft pick Dansby Swanson arrived and went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles in his big-league debut. The home-state star's promotion is about more than just performance, though, as less than 10 months ago, he was a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks organization -- and now he's immediately one of the faces of a franchise aiming to rebuild. It's a franchise with plenty of hobby favorites in the past and it doesn't hurt that there's a new stadium coming next year, too.
Now, the questions come about cardboard. Will this Rookie Cards now be included in 2017 Topps Series 1 and 2017 Topps Heritage? We don't know that yet -- but we do know he's among today's Topps Now stars on a call-up card -- not once but twice.
