Shohei Ohtani needs a driver's license ... and other even stranger things learned from 2018 Bowman baseball cards

Have you looked at your 2018 Bowman card backs yet? We're a week into the release of the first prospecting baseball card brand of the year and there are a number of oddities to be discovered on the cards in this set ... if you choose to flip them over and read the "Up Close" blurbs.
One of the weirdest revelations -- one that will also appear on the back of his Superfractor auto if it's found (the $75,000 offer still stands, too) -- is the fact that Shohei Ohtani doesn't have a driver's license. (The fact that the modeled his hitting after Hideki Matsui isn't surprising given his first month in the majors.)
That's not the only weird fact on the backs of some 2018 Bowman baseball cards ...

eBay Buzz Weekly Update: Shohei Ohtani, Ronald Acuña, Miguel Andujar, Ronda Rousey ... and a Hall of Fame steal?
Have you seen the latest crazy items on eBay? If not, you just might see some of those here every week as we're launching a weekly version of our eBay Buzz pieces that pop up from time to time. We’ll spotlight some items that have a story or just wow us with how much interest it might have — and we’re not just talking baseball cards, either.--
THIS YEAR’S PHENOM -- SHOHEI OHTANI
The Item: A game-used baseball from Shohei Ohtani's MLB debut
The Price: $479.99 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This year's biggest deal on baseball cards is also becoming a big deal elsewhere for memorabilia fans -- and some of the newest items out there are ones from the games he's played thanks to the MLB Authentication program. Fans in MLB cities have a built-in advantage when it comes to game-used memorabilia but that hobby has continued to be a fun one to explore on eBay. In cases of notable rookies such as Ohtani or future Hall of Famers, there are plenty of instances where a typical game-used ball is something more. This particular ball is from his MLB debut game on March 29 in Oakland. He didn't use this ball, but it's one of not many out there to be authenticated and make it to market. Helping it is the fact that MLB Authentication notes this being Ohtani's debut game in its listing. Balls Ohtani pitched in his first start commanded much more than this direct from the team, making a ball like this an interesting option. They won't be making more debut gamers -- so once they're gone, they're gone.

Shohei Ohtani's 2018 Bowman arrival scorches eBay already
The autographs aren't the only showtime inclusions when it comes to Shohei Ohtani cards found in boxes of 2018 Bowman today. His basic Rookie Cards, their parallels and, of course, all that ink are commanding more money than you might think, showing us all that the interest in the two-way rookie from Japan is building with every start -- no matter where it's at on the field.
Oh, and there's still that $60,000 offer on the Superfractor in case you pull it, too. (And it's been upped to $70,000 if it's pulled over on BlowoutTV.)
But what about all those new eBay listings?
