SELL NOW OR BUY FOR LATER?
The Item: Mike Trout 2019 Topps Now Future World Series (/10 Chrome set prize)
The Price: $84.95 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: It's a long baseball season so the recently released Topps Now Future packs (three cards) and single cards have some time to rise and fall based on pennant potential. This card is of a top name in the game and if his Los Angeles Angels somehow win the World Series it's good for a team set of Chrome parallels limited to only 10 copies. Logically, with three players per team on the standard checklist, that would mean that about three of these exist, right? Or, maybe all 10 of the eligible cards for that prize are of Trout? Either way, the rarer prize cards in this release should be rarer, too. The  three-card packs are limited in nature (just under 11,000 total) and every card inside can yield something -- team sets or team sets with an autograph. Sales of singles for some of these have been strong -- they are all worth a look. However, part of me thinks action for playoff contenders could really pick up late in the season. Do you buy or sell now? Or buy and sell later?

If you head over to the official Coca-Cola store, aka www.cokestore.com, you'll see that today is May 24, 1985, and there's something new (that's old) on the way.

It's a new wave of New Coke, the famous bomb from back in the day, that's making a comeback alongside the forthcoming arrival of Stranger Things 3 on Netflix on July 4, 1985. (Work with them here.)

That's the day the kids in the hit franchise get their worlds turned upside down once again and to cash in on celebrate that, Coca-Cola has New Coke making a limited comeback. For $19.85 -- free shipping -- you can get a "1985 Limited Edition Collector's Pack."

A No. 1 CONTENDER ... 
The Item: Kyler Murray 2019 Panini Contenders Draft Picks Cracked Ice auto (/23)
The Price: $3,499 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This one's serial-numbering is his uni number and his potential selection spot in tonight's NFL Draft. Is the price out of whack? Probably not given how some QBs have sold in recent years when it comes to rarities and  autographs. It's also not the highest-priced of his cards on eBay right now. The only drawback here is that his card won't note his new NFL team -- these arrived in packs this week -- but he's got a pretty successful Oklahoma history and a strong fan base there that will have their eyes on this one now -- and later -- no matter where he goes.

HOW YOU LIKE ME NOW?
The Item: Tom Brady 2000 Bowman Chrome Refractor (RC parallel) BGS 9.5
The Price: $19,499 Buy-It-Now
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: Think this price is crazy? It is, but it isn't -- check out that link below. You should know by now that Brady has won yet another Super Bowl ring after Sunday's snoozefest in Atlanta and you need to know that his Rookie Cards are easily some of the priciest football cards out there in top condition and in slabs. This one isn't the flashiest of them -- other big ones have autographs and command much more cash -- but this is one (non-Refractor) that I managed to pull from a pack back in the day so it gets my pick here. The pop report for this particular version shows 28 others in this grade and just one getting a 10. Just 207 Refractors have been slabbed by BGS while mine is pushing 3,000 with 103 BGS 10s and two getting a BGS Black perfect 10. Some of Brady's RCs have been faked, so slabbed is the way to go unless you want to pay big bucks to chase wax (not easy to find anyway). He's expensive but there's no doubt that he's atop the mountain right now. Is he a safe buy? Traditional thought might say that he's too pricey to get in on right now, but when Brady is the top guy in NFL history there should continue to be more attention and speculation money pumped into his cards from beyond the typical collecting base.

GONE FISHING ... CAUGHT THE BIG ONE
The Item: Mike Trout 2018 Topps Transcendent Collection Emerald autograph (/15)
The Price: $599 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This guy is one of the big names found in not one but two 2018 Transcendent Collection releases from Topps last year and he's the star of the VIP party that high-rollers will attend this year, too. While everything is low-volume in this ultra-high-end brand, there are a few guys who can be found more than others -- Trout, Shohei Ohtani and Ichiro Suzuki for sure as Trout is the main star in the standard version's extra inclusions, while the two Japanese stars are the only players found in the Asian edition.

Why it’s Buzz-worthy: The arrival of this brand marks the arrival of the newest rare cardboard for this rookie who has been scorching when it comes to cardboard and not that shabby on the court for the Dallas Mavericks with 19 points 6.7 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game. It's interesting that this one hasn't been slabbed up -- so it could have more price potential -- though the Optic versions of his cards in this one might be the top target for a few buyers. His cards are pricey across the board, so they are worth a look any time more arrive.

One biggie already on eBay is this Jarred Kelenic Red Wave auto that has a hefty price tag attached. Is it too high? You never know, but a Kelenic Red (no Waving) allegedly already sold for $3,950 on eBay since this brand dropped.

ONE SUPER PULL
The Item: Ronald Acuña Jr. 2018 Topps Chrome Superfractor autograph
The Price: $3,050 after 19 bids (more than five days remaining)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This is one of the biggest cards possible in this year's Rookie Card parallel lineup without the name Ohtani attached -- and even with that this should be one of the bigs -- and this one is on the auction block as an auction via an eBay seller with a heavy buyer list and a huge presence. How big will this card go? We'll find out in a few days -- and it was big enough my plans to not have an eBay Buzz this week hit the bench in favor of this Friday-night edition.

A simple idea, a colorful parallel rainbow, a focus on autographs and some star power with the challenge of a chase are all ingredients for a winner if you pull the right guy at the right time.

The card you see above? It's one of 75 2017 Panini Contenders Optic Red autographs signed by red-hot Kansas City Chiefs QB and potential league MVP Patrick Mahomes II -- a guy who was a promising rookie with little-to-no playing time at the time of this one's arrival.

Now? In a PSA 10 slab, it was a card that sold for $5,800 in late September. Another one like it? It's at $6,500 in an active auction. And, yes, there are rarer parallels that are even pricier -- and the lower-grade copies of these are strong sellers, too.

The crazy part? The boxes (and cases) that these cards come in can still be found without breaking the bank.

ABOUT THOSE UNIFORM ADS ... 
The Item: Giannis Antetokounmpo 2017-18 Panini Flawless Gold auto patch (/10)
The Price: $1,000 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This card is the perfect example where the recently added company logos on NBA uniforms has some added value -- as memorabilia cards -- beyond those for the advertising companies and league coffers. This card combines the world of Harley-Davidson motorcycles with one of the league's young and dominating stars. Sure, cards like this will be more common as high-end brands such as the new Flawless arrive with more, but this one still feels underpriced to me compared to some of the cardboard out there with new-hog price tags attached.

BIG DEMAND FOR UNSIGNED EARLY RARITIES?
The Item: Drew Brees 2000 Leaf Rookies & Stars Longevity parallel XRC (/30) BGS 8.5
The Price: $4,960 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: The NFL's new all-time passing yards leader is here and his key first autos have some insane asking prices (see link below) but there are a few other cards that can be surprising out there, too. Why? They're low-volume and the wax is nowhere to be found now -- and there's that Tom Brady guy not helping in 2000 -- but this one is even more complicated. It's a card that was issued via redemption and this one is an interesting card as it's from the year before Brees' Rookie Cards -- and it's a foilboard parallel (hence that scan) limited to only 30 copies. That asking price seems lofty but only four of the 30 have been slabbed by BGS and only one has graded higher (a BGS 9). You won't find one graded higher and you may not find one at all otherwise ... so, is it worth the big price tag? Maybe if you're a diehard Brees fan who hasn't found one yet or if you think there's big potential in other rarities from this era that could appreciate big in the future. (Remember, there's no back stock of volume boxes walking through that door for new cars to be found unlike the being-revisited boxes of the 1980s and 1990s that can still be found easily. And, again, this one is a redemption.) Buzz actually owns one of the three other cards so seeing this one out there at that price was a shocker -- I'm definitely going to keep my eyes on this one.

THE LATEST ROOKIE ARRIVAL
The Item: 2018 Panini XR Calvin Ridley Rookie Patch Auto Laundry Tag NFL shield 1/1

Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This Atlanta Falcons rookie arrived big-time in a shootout with the New Orleans Saints last Sunday with seven catches for 146 yards and three touchdowns. That firmly put him on the radars for a few more collectors although many were probably already watching this first-round pick anyway. This brand is loaded with all kinds of nice cards like this one and he's got plenty of other high-end feeling cards from products without high-end prices. It's these prime cards that could be the most-volatile on the high-end if dominance continues from the rookie.

It's something we haven't (yet?) seen in a trading card, but post-game celebration confetti isn't just fodder for random eBay auctions any more. 

With a new NFL season here, Buzz was curious if any new memorabilia or other pieces had popped up yet via Fanatics, which helps bring new game-used, Rookie Premiere-used and autographs to the masses when they're not found in packs of cards.

And that's when I found this unique gem of sorts. It's a 10-inch tall display for the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles and its the home of a capsule of post-game confetti from Super Bowl LII. It's a $99.99 item ... and it's not alone.

SENIOR BOWL GAMER ... OF A HALL OF FAMER
The Item: Brett Favre 1991 Senior Bowl game-used and signed jersey
The Price: $22,000 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: The Senior Bowl has a rich history and a number of college stars who went on to NFL greatness after the big game -- and there are many who didn't. While you can find players' Senior Bowl jerseys placed into cardboard in recent years, a past gamer might be much rarer than you think. And one from a player of Favre's caliber? Well, that's an elite piece. This one came directly from Favre himself after being put on the market via Hunt Auctions in 2017. These aren't team colors that we most commonly associate with this Hall of Famer, but it's a one-of-a-kind piece compared to many potential gamers for his pro teams. It's impressive.

The most-recent release that comes to mind (and the most-official one, of course) when it comes to cards for Michael Jackson arrived back in 2011 when Panini America released a set that brought him to cardboard in the modern era via two waves. A fully licensed newcomer to the baseball diamond this year is one that meshes both sports collecting and coin collecting in a new way -- all reflecting those in on the action with a shine that can't be seen when they are on the field.

It's still a rookie, but the demand for 2018 Baseball Treasure coins is there -- just check eBay.

"We see people from the coin side taking interest. We see people from the sports side taking interest and there are some of those people who do both," said company co-founder John Connor on the floor of the National Sports Collectors Convention in Cleveland last week. "The first one to show up at the aftermarket was Mike Trout and it went for $290 for the silver coin."
